    Was this a protest against the municipal gov’t of Toronto for not celebrating Dominion Day?

    Was this a protest against the Catholic Schools in Ontario not showing rainbow flags while no one within gov’t thought to include the islamic schools in with all the fun?

    Was this new Canadian celebrating “Tuesday”?

    Was this new Canadian celebrating from afar, Danielle Smith’s UCP win over the NDP?

    Was this new Canadian celebrating the diversity which is Toronto?

    1. The problem is that they would go to prison for doing this. People have stopped interfering with crime not because they are afraid of the criminal but because the know the state will punish them much more severally than the state will punish the criminal. The utter viciousness with which police, prosecutors and judges punish people for self defense, defense of others or of property results in this behavior.

      Quite recently a woman who defended herself from rape, assault and attempted murder and has stabbed the attacker who then bled to death, spent months in prison, while the cynical state explored every possible avenue to pin something on her, and then, when they eventually let the traumatized scarred women out of jail the thugs congratulated themselves on their reasonable leniency. Of course she was financially ruined at the end while the state goons kept collecting their salary. Yes really. Can dig out details of the story if you’re interested.

          1. I agree with you. I think you also agree with me that ignoring these things this way simply means that people will care less about official law enforcement and more about direct action. This sort of thing is precisely what brings law enforcement into disrepute. The end result is more vigilantism.

          3. Cgh, yes I am full agreement. It will result in vigilantism sooner or later. But one look at turd world, eg places like Brazilian cities, shows that vigilantism is an extreme reaction that may treat some symptoms but offers no cure for the disease.

            Once BLM riots got legitimized as reasonable expression of rage, once cops took a knee to BLM thugs (only to turn around and viscously assault lockdown protesters) there was no putting this genie back in the bottle.

          4. The end goal is to destabilize society to make it ripe for the Inevitable Revolution. Destroying faith in public institutions is part of that. Destroying faith in the police leads to vigilantism and mob justice, which provides an excuse for greater crackdowns, which leads to more unrest, which leads to revolution.

            It’s always, always, always about the revolution.

      2. I’m, of course, very skeptical about overly officious rules and regulations. I’m not a fan of banning things. However in my CA County … ALL fireworks are illegal. Even the “safe and sane” fireworks. Why? Fire danger. I believe the law is excessive … however … when ANTIFA and BLM showed up in our County and fired off Roman candles at police … the Fire Marshall was AWOL. No charges filed. Why? If I had set off a small spark fountain in the middle of our street for the entertainment of children … I’d get busted and fined.
