    I’d had never heard of this monstrosity and I sensed that JP hadn’t either.
    It’s a good reminder that in many cases there may be no ideology in play; that follow the money (and power) is often the most fruitful approach to getting to the bottom of popular hysterias.

    I’m surprised that John Money wasn’t given a high ranking government position requiring a budget of millions of dollars that the rest of the country would pay taxes into for years and years to come.

  5. Mark Steyn covered this in detail on his website. So it turns out the only person with true gender dysphoria is a actual man who someone attempted to raise as woman. If it wasn’t so sad, it would be hilarious.

  6. I learned about this case in anthropology in the 1970s. It was presented as “just this thing that happened” and it all turned out fine. Theory around gender at the time was that humanity was “infinitely flexible” and everything was determined by the culture you grew up in. Girls act like girls because their mom teaches them that way. I heard a lot of that. And this was ~1978-79.

    But then I started looking at paleo anthropology and the fossil record, and all the “cultural determinism” BS started to seem pretty thin. Women are just plain different. They do different jobs in human life, and have done all down through the ages since before we were even Humans. You can SEE IT in the fossils. It is -obvious-.

    So, just like the Stanford Prison experiment, another one bites the dust.

    1. Precisely. I heard of this theory, Postmodernism taken to its extreme, way back then and, being from Westfort, I immediately thought, “What a total load of … crap!” That neighborhood pounded the weird out of most kids. Didn’t totally work on me. LOL
