The press as police
It’s an awful look for the press. This isn’t tracking down a serial killer or exposing Enron’s fraud. The alleged “crime” here is releasing true information, information that belongs to the American public and is secret only by official designation. At most, a newspaper might decide not to publish such information, but to help jail the leaker? It’s nuts. Reporters are supposed to be interested in everything and listen to information without judgment, like doctors, yet the whole industry is working itself into a moral frenzy because a bunch of overgrown Minecraft enthusiasts were privately passing around a few truths like a joint.

We always hear stories about the Soviet citizens decoding Pravda, supposedly because a few real journalists would try to get the truth out between the lines.
I don’t think we’ll be benefitting from that kind of heroism. Our journos are too spineless to do it, and too biased to know they need to. Also, it is probably against union regulations.
I think, with this arrest, that the US media has stopped pretending they’re not Pravda. An orchestrated circus act to quell the masses and make them come to heel.
After the lies of 2020/21, I don’t believe anything about this story. It’s 1938 and this is straight from the pages of Der Sturmer. Any truth in it is selected for convenience, making the whole thing false news.
But the pantomime put on by the media here is the real story, where the actual newsworthy bit is that they sold this kid to the feds. It doesn’t matter to me if the kid is real, fake, a plant, an enemy agent, an FBI guy, whatever. The real deal is they burned him for clicks, to sell a narrative.
Making everything they do enemy action. If you are a whistleblower it is now impossible to go to the USA Lamestream media. You have to find another venue for your blowing the whistle.
I’ve been watching the media carefully since I -finally- figured out they were just plain lying back in 1992. No interest in the truth. Since then they’ve gone farther and farther down the same path. Finally coming out openly as actively opposed to the freedom and prosperity of North Americans.
I guess its on now, eh?
The “press” is upset because their handlers at the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have told them to be or there won’t be any more unofficial “official” leaks. They are also upset because the information wasn’t spoon fed to them by their handlers like usual.
