Color me critical, but I suspect this is photoshopped- even if released by the Pentagon, sadly.
I can’t imagine a U2 flying that close to an unknown object – as in they didn’t know if the ballon had some trigger mechanism if approached type thing – as well flying X miles an hour go in that close? Come on. To me, the shadow is too ‘clean’ looking with no ‘glory’ ring about it.
I could be wrong but I can’t see a pilot sitting in a space suit with limited maneuverability, holding a camera have the right angle and timing is amazing…plus the pilot isn’t even looking at the camera to see if he has the right angle…
Doesn’t pass the smell test…
