  1. If Twitter has the horsepower and knowhow to make this work, it’s huge. A game changer. Giving money back to content creators is how Youtube got so big. It remains to be seen if they can make it work with the short format.

    But it’s such an obvious thing to do that I have to wonder why it wasn’t done before. It may be more difficult to make it practical than we realize. Normally I’d say that the company would not go off half-cocked if they couldn’t make it work, but Musk does have a tendency to go off half-cocked.

      Twitter was being propped up by US government intelligence agency cash. It was 100% not profitable as a microblogging platform. Musk has to change the business model now that the cash firehose has been turned off.
