It’s Not Just That

It’s just the straw breaking the camels back.

The Telegraph-Over-50s are being driven out of work by wokery

The civil service, the NHS, higher education and far too many private companies have become a paradise for “recreational offence-takers” who love to air their concocted grievances. On one occasion, Gareth had a complaint lodged against him for using the term Anglo-Saxon. “Apparently, it has negative connotations for the woke. Who knew?”

  1. I retired before all this douche-baggery bubbled up to the surface of society, so in general I’ve been able to thumb my nose at most of this, but I feel really badly for the poor souls who have to soldier on for a few more years so’s they don’t retire to a life of penury.

I don’t see an easy solution to any of this.

    1. Victimhood has gained such a power dynamic that it is becoming increasingly necessary to outright fabricate it just to play the game.

    2. I retired just as it was starting. The crap from (just renamed) Human Capital told me I was getting out just in time.

  2. The bureaucrats could have played the adult a few short years ago.
They decided to side with the spoiled infants, because Fairness! and New!
Now they are surprised they are getting shivved in the back?

Woke Victimhood is just another path to power and personal supremacy.

  3. Western Civilization:
Something that died yesterday that people think may die tomorrow if “we don’t do something!! Reeeee!”

  4. Not muting the Woke is like not descending your pet skunk. At some point it’s going to be regretted.

  5. Trudeau is able to look into a camera and, incredibly, disparage “authoritarian leaders” like he recently did because they are trying to break what Mark Steyn called the “Happy Warrior”.
It is as shocking as it relentless.
They are colluding to break our sense of humour.
We are winning the psyop war with memes and jokes and information with guys like Alex Stein, Viva Frei, Matt Walsh, Kate and on and on.
    They can’t use humour.
    We can.

    “Truinnerashuvaduprezure”
They have nothing to counter us laughing at them other than to try to demoralize us.
In the natural scale that ends in “Then you win” , we’re close.

F*ck them, FJT, Let’s go Brandon.

  6. *the ‘little chat’ in the Lifeform Resources office*

“Anglo-Saxon?!? I am doubly offended that someone is offended by that term. I demand you fire that person for being offended when she/he/her/him/it/they/them has offended me over twice as much by objecting to the term. And I’ll need two paid weeks off to recover from such a macroaggression and written assurances that she/he/her/him/it/they/them will never again offend me so deeply.”

  7. Anglo Saxons are the worst kind of Saxons in my experience, Franco Saxons are not much better, and Hispanic Saxons are a confused lot at the best of times. I would steer clear of the lot, also the Danish, especially the kind they have at Starbucks.

Don’t even get me started about woke socialism, I was one of its very early targets and had to explain to complete strangers why I thought what I did, only half of them (who thought what I did) seemed to understand the puzzling fact that not everybody holds the views of woke socialists. Well I hold some of them, hoping they won’t escape back into the wild.

  8. “recreational offence-takers” . Yup. ROT.

These virtue-signalling drips pretend that they are some kind of modern-day Martin Luther Kings. Pathetic little bastards. I don’t know what they need most: manual labour or starvation.

My wife and I were counting up the folks we know who got the fuggits and took an early exit from their jobs because of stupidity like this. An incredible number of people for a small community.

  9. Retiring early? Or don’t make enough to live on?

Team Trudeau, supported by the NDP, has the solution: MAiD.

  10. I just put in my 4 months notice, overwhelmingly because of the constant drumbeat of wokeness/DEIB/ESG and personal pronouns where I work.

  11. Having my own business for decades meant that I was insulated from most of the wokery, however the bureaucracy I had to deal with both from my professional bodies and from government agencies I regularly worked with finally got to me.

One aspect of getting old is that my BS tolerance, which was minimal when I was young and virile, went to almost zero. Retirement is good.

  12. Worked in a gummint office. There were a handful of folks ( all females) who would stroll around the office eavesdropping on others to pick up any “objectionable comments”, then run to the HR harridan and rat them out.
I got out before I was seriously injured. Called the resident midget”shorty” one time.
    Jeez. I was pooched!

    1. same here..worked in a GOVT office and advised some young people that never show up on time for work that they are supposed to be at your desk working by 8AM……they looked at me like I had 4 heads…..then when they got to work these 2 started playing some games on the computers which I advised them that this was not a play station……..they went to my supervisor when he got back from 2 weeks vacation, I get called into the office and lost 2 days pay for being assertive towards them……….I SHIT YOU NOT….the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth………little SOB’s………and yes BTW I was in charge of the office for 2 weeks while the Supervisor was away so I did have the “authority” to have them do their job…………….

  13. I lasted as long as I could, and then pulled the ejection handle when it was clear the PRV (pressure relief valve) was about ready to blow. The nonsense that was coming out of HR and the like, supporting the nonsense of the younger workforce, was going to be too much to tolerate. Fortunately, I was 65+ and could make it work.
Now I’ll give my experience and talents to the projects of my choosing. Retirement is very good.

  14. I work in the Oil Sands.

    Woke..??

Doesn’t exit here. I Work with MEN & some women from all over Canada who toil outside in -35C temps, removing, repairing and reinstalling 16, 18, & 30″ flanged piping in an Oil Sands Mine….12 hrs every day for 14 and 21 day shifts w/7 off.

    Tailings Maintenance.

Woke wouldn’t survive 10 minutes up here…especially with a 20km hr wind that blows near constantly.

But hey, if you’re man enough….the coin can’t be beat. And the camps have come a very long way over the years…dbl beds, your own shower w/ full bathroom soap n shower gel supplied, 36″ wide screens w/ full Telus pkg….Elevators, 3 Gyms, Steam room, badminton & hockey courts among other amenitie

Suncor supplies any and all working gear you could want. Covies, parkas, great winter gloves etc…much of which is available in vending machines near everywhere…just scan yer badge.!

I’m on a 7/7 rotation fly in /out and love it….Paid weekly to boot. What’s not like eh???

    Woke..??? LMAO…

    1. Steakman…Thank you for your hard work in the Oil Industry……….It’s tough work and need tough people just like you

    2. Steakman, With that constant 20 mph wind, maybe you should suggest a windfarm location there! LOL.

  15. I was let go from my last white-collar job in early 2019 because “I didn’t fit in” and I can only imagine how woke that company has become since then. I’m sure every email signature requires a pronoun and that every meeting begins with staff stating their preferred pronoun.

I am SO glad I work in a blue collar environment now. No woke conversations. No walking on egg-shells, worried about how an off-colour comment might offend someone. No political correctness. No B.S.

    1. Even blue collar workers are not safe. Warehouses all seem to be run by 25 year old social equity majors.
I was sent to re-education camp after making a comment to two 20 year old male ‘coworkers’ about a particularly fine rear end that passed by in yoga pants and a thong.

  16. Thomas Benjamin Wild esquire:
I’ve no more f**ks to give.

Is that perfect theme song for this posting.

The Bullshit has been laid on so thick and hard that there is zero point working for the idiot employers who allow the Woke idiocy.
Life is too short to tolerate such blithering idiots.

There is a shortage of skilled tradesmen, most of us aging critters belong to The Surly Tradesmen’s Association..
Who only work for people we know, like and trust..

The best part of being a master tradesman,is reaching the point where work comes to you and the Politically Correct Scum can be ignored or told where to seek help.

And the beauty of Cell phones..I do not know that number..I ain’t answering it.
If it is important ,leave a message..
Which, unless you are from the select group..I will ignore.
    “I help you real good”.

Years ago I met a wokester, back when I worked for wages,He went home, telling the boss,
“I am not coming back to work until yer foreman apologizes”.
    Guess it is still waiting.
