I note nowadays the detailed breakdown of my bill includes so many fees and administrative charges that the cost of the product itself is only a small fraction. “Access fee”. Why must I pay a fee every month for the privilege of their product “accessing” my property?
That’s a 58.4 % tax on their gas consumption.
My home consumption tax sometimes reaches the high 60s %
And then turn the knife in the wound and ad 5% gst on the carbon tax.

All I can ever find is that certain individuals are eligible for a CAIP payment. Those recipients are determined by the Revenue branch of the government based on filed tax returns. I can not nail down the criterion used to disseminate the funds.

On November 22, 2022, the federal government approved Saskatchewan’s proposal for an updated Output-Based Performance Standards (OBPS) program, which now includes electricity generation. As a result, the 2023-2030 carbon tax revenue we collect will be paid to the provincial government, effective January 1, 2023.
The provincial government is developing the mechanism to reinvest these funds back into Saskatchewan.
Why can’t SaskPower just pay this tax and not pass it on to customers?
Our 2022 emissions payment is estimated at $180 million. The cost will continue to grow as the annual cost per tonne increases and emissions thresholds decrease. That would mean less to invest in our province’s power system to ensure reliable and sustainable power for our customers.
We’re committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% from 2005 levels by 2030. We’ll get there in several ways, including increasing the renewable generation capacity in our system. However, the transition of our power system to lower-emitting generation sources will take some time.
Any government that justifies its actions by saying that CO2 is a thermostat for the earth is an enemy of individual rights and freedoms and is assisting the subjugation of humanity.

Back in the day, my father heated with coal up to the 1970s – later in his shop. There was a coal mine at Egg Lake, north of St. Albert, Alberta. I doubt it is still open. Says it shut down in 2004. I think there was another one at Evansburg.

Over the holidays I was doing snow removal at a facility for 5 days and I had to get them to move their van every single day. And yes they were working on the boiler. I have also seen similar results at homes I have worked at with smaller high efficiency boilers.

a couple of years back i bought coal at Dodds mine near Daysland.Alberta. they loaded into bins , pushed the bins into my truck , closed my gate. full service , full half ton.
the carbon tax equaled the full service of the mine.
incidentally their largest customers were hutterites from Saskatchewan who bought 8 B trains at a time to run grain dryers. still the cheapest fuel .
and as an aside , we drove the forestry truck road from Rocky Mt. House to Hinton last summer , the road was full of the big haulers . heading to the train yard near coalspur. happy to see it was in business
Back in the day, my father heated with coal up to the 1970s – later in his shop. There was a coal mine at Egg Lake, north of St. Albert, Alberta. I doubt it is still open. Says it shut down in 2004. I think there was another one at Evansburg.

As an added bonus with many of these very expensive high tech high efficiency boilers you get to be really friendly with service techs. Over the holidays I was doing snow removal at a facility for 5 days and I had to get them to move their van every single day. And yes they were working on the boiler. I have also seen similar results at homes I have worked at with smaller high efficiency boilers.
