The media isn’t in the pocket for Trudeau… well perhaps the CBC is but nobody watches them. Trudeau is in the pocket of the media. Who do you think is really in charge? Part time drama instructor leading the nation, or those rich elitist king makers who own the media. When you frame what the media does in that light then their behaviour makes much more sense. The media isn’t chasing government ad money. That’s just a small side bonus. The rich maintain their power and wealth through the media by ensuring their puppets in the Liberal and NDP party given that exactly what they want.
This is also what C11is all about. You think the government accidentally left small creators exception to this bill out so the bill is accidentally vague? No way. Big media can’t allow those outside their power structure to get promoted. This bill is to enshrine their power over media and their power to gaslight Canadians.

News and communication companies like CTV are just tools of the powerful. All we the public see are the talking heads, so we assume they are purposeful independent actors. They are not. CTV is not an independent entity. It has an owner. Bell Media is not an independent actor. It has owners. The major Canadian banks own Bell. Private equity firms like Blackrock, Fidelity, Vanguard, et al. own Bell. And they own the banks, And the banks own them. It’s an interconnected nexus of corporate ownership of financial entities. And these interconnected financial entities own everything.
Being purpose-driven organizations, these financial entities use their investments as tools to further their interests. CTV is only one such tool. Politicians are no different from the TV talking heads, except that they are even more narcissistic and megalomaniacal and less self-aware than the average news reader, so the bankers and plutocrats handle them with greater nuance than with other employees. But the financial elites still regard the politicians as tools.
Most people never make the leap from what they see, and what appears to be true, to the unseen, and what is actually true.
So, the highbinder most responsible for the country’s woes says there’s no problems & everything’s just peachy. And, surprise!, the flacks – that he pays – clap & wrap his crap as “news”.
