The Globe and Mail has reported that in 2016, the Wenzhou society’s Miaofei Pan hosted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a private gathering at Pan’s West Vancouver mansion.
Pan offered pro-Beijing businessmen an intimate opportunity to rub shoulders with Trudeau, allegedly in exchange for political donations…

The Chinese-Canadian media published an almost exact translation of this article with some added details. They say that each guest had to pay 1,500 yuan (not “donations”) to meet Trudeau in 2016, and that the host of that event is “currently the honorary president” while Global News instead wrote that “He is no longer on the board.”
