    Football, or as they say here, soccer, and wining was down the list of priorities.
    So then you have that.
    It is rather mind boggling, that some of the more intelligent people get sucked in by an ideology.

  8. As the west is committing cultural and economic suicide, the Islamists are confident of their 7th Century theocracy with the knowledge that they are demographically replacing the suicidal west. It’s why they now mock the German soccer team and their flaccid protest. The German and French philosophers created the poison to replace Christianity and reason (with nihilism) and now their western followers are importing Islam at an industrial level. If I were an Islamist, I would be smiling and watching the civilizational replacement with delight.

      1. The 1914 war was the second Franco-Prussian War but the idiot British had to get involved. If the French had gotten another ass kicking Europe would have been a better place. WWI was a war of empires fought for no reason whatsoever.

        3. Yes, that’s a reasonable summary. The Germans didn’t exactly want war, but they had basically convinced themselves that there was going to have to be a war, and therefore when war came in sight, they were not thinking, “war or no war?”, they were thinking, “war now or war later?” “No war” had ceased to be an option to them, even though it’s what most of them probably wanted.

          One of the great questions in British history is indeed whether it was the right thing to enter the war to defend Belgium. It’s at least arguable that the BEF made the difference in preventing the conquest of France. But it seems more likely that if the British hadn’t been there, the war would still have worked out much as it did, in that the Germans would not have been able to conquer France but would have seized and held a big chunk. Without the British, it seems unlikely that France could have liberated herself. The unfathomable question is, would that postwar Europe, with Britain intact, France under German domination, and German naval bases on the North Sea in Belgium, have been much worse than the Europe we actually got?

  10. Considering the number of dead athletes over the last year, I’m surprised the event hasn’t had a body count….that I’m aware of.
    What’s any event in the middle east without a body count?

  12. If it ain’t a sport with motorized wheels of some sort, I ain’t interested. I’ve never cared for “soccer” since I was forced to play it as a kid in the British school system, Same with Rugby and Cricket. Since then I’ve developed a succinct disinterest for most sports except car and motorcycle racing. Don’t watch em, and don’t care who wins or loses. I am however, sick and tired of woke bullshit, Islam, and LGBQWERTY stuff. They can all FOAD!
