  1. We are living in an insane country with insane people. Every day I see or read something that makes me question just how the hell we got to where we are. Sane rational intelligent people do not do the things that are happening in Canada.

    1. A commenter commenting on the article has me thinking this is secretly the Federal government selling to the OPP to justify the Emergencies Act used by protesters.

    2. maybe the JAB has affected their little brains they did have???
Cause as you say, THIS IS NOT NORMAL……

  2. I love how the article is about a police agent buying grenades but the commenters want to know what protesters were doing with them.

Brantford, huh? The only other similar story that I’m aware of
is a teenager on the Bay of Quinte Reserve who got taken
down by an outside agency… (aboriginal cops are not known
for arresting, well… aboriginals) after it became known he
was in possession of a grenade.

      Well… and this…

“A massive police raid at three different Mohawk reserves in Quebec
Wednesday morning netted $2.5 million in cash and a large firearms
      cache, including three grenade launchers.”

  3. Not that the grenades in the picture are necessarily the ones involved in the transaction, but I have been looking around the interwebs trying to identify the type of grenade without success. You can’t see the striker mechanism or the markings on any of them in the picture but you can see that they have a solid cast case without a base plug, which is a bit odd. I’m wondering if they’re even real. Any ideas?

      1. I don’t think so. The images in the Torstar story show a cast body with no base cap. M61 has a pressed steel body, an internal coil of wire for fragmentation and a threaded base cap installed after the device has been filled with explosives.

        1. Looking at the cast texture on the body, you have a point. The base looks like the casting cut off point. It also makes me think of a British L3A1 practice Grenade. Screwing on my tinfoil hat, I wonder if someone found a batch of these and painted them up to pull a scam on the buyer or a nice false flag for headlines maybe? Curiouser and curiouser.

  4. So were they deactivated grenades? Cops tend to avoid little details like that. What Rusty said – the ones in the picture are grenade bodies only. No mechanisms visible.

    1. Most likely, they’re live (green bodies with yellow markings) and they do have live fuses on them (yellow tip on safety lever). They also still have the safety tape securing the lever to the grenade body in case pf safety pin damage. They’re not blue, therefore not training grenades.

  5. Those are grenade photos released by OPP in relation to the case according to other stories. They don’t look like any grenade I’ve seen. Were the cops being scammed? Are they dummy grenades?

  6. I found a close up picture of supposedly the same grenades and a trigger and a ring, presumably attached to a pin, are visible. Maybe they are real. Not sure whose grenades these are. They aren’t Canadian. The ones I’ve seen are spherical and I think the case is plastic.

  7. A very long time ago I knew a guy who went through the Army Reserves and kept one as a Souvenir.

  8. Does not the yellow handle indicate they are training grenades. Therefore nothing more than paperweights.

    1. A training grenade is usually blue in colour. The yellow on the safety lever indicates it is a live fuse as well. They are most likely live US M61grenades.

  9. Sounds like they intervened in a diversity of armaments initiative for the disadvantaged.

    BAD law enforcement…BAD law enforcement.

  10. As noted, this has all the earmarks of Cop to Cop crime.
The “Black SUV” observing the buy.
The timing Dec 2020,cause we need an insurrection..
    So many questions.
    As in,what type of grenade?
    Manufactured by whom?
    Sold by?
    Lost by?
A classic Canadian Government Media story, that lacks more information than it supplies..
But it ,the story, sure protects the narrative…Bad white guys, cops, buy hand grenades…

  11. I checked in this weeks Cdn. Tire flyer; can’t find them listed. maybe only available in Ontario… 😉
