    And with the same long term effect (on power generation).
    But is “Free”.
    “Clean” and “Sustainable”..

    1. Yeah … a tiny crack caused by a BB shot at your windscreen. Wind power is a tiny BB lodged just under our skin … annoying as hell

  2. That’s what a grid parasite looks like. The parasite gets paid whenever it randomly generates power, sometimes when the grid must dump power and pay another jurisdiction to take it. The base load and spinning backup power producer must eat all the inefficiencies in yielding to the preferential random (parasite) producer while keeping the grid functional. Over the life-cycle of the parasite, they require somewhere around fifty times more fossil fuel per KWH from establishment to decommissioning than does the nuclear power above. So, if reducing fossil fuel combustion is the goal, why are we even bothering adding the parasite to the system.

  3. The map/chart doesn’t show the fossil fuel component of the power generation mix. The wind turbines need to be backed up for when the wind doesn’t blow to keep the electrical grid stable. Ontario backs up its wind farms mostly with gas power plants.
    People blab on about wind power but they don’t realize its really a wind-gas power mix with most of the power coming from gas.

    Randall should give his pitch to Canada’s Nuclear Waste Management Organization which is responsible for disposal of the used reactor fuel. As I am aware, the only proposal .on the table is to bury it in deep shafts.
