    1. I took my first cruise in 2012 through the Baltics. On our day in Estonia, the young male guide informed us that the average age of death for men in Estonia was 51 – they drank too much vodka and killed their livers. I have heard that Russian men have a similar problem, so I am not surprised at this posting.

        1. One more thing. Estonia has a sizable russian minority, that minority drinks and dies earlier than the rest of the country. Russia has a sizable Mooselimb minority, that minority does not drink (or abort their children) and dies later than the rest of the country. So ethnic russians in both countries live shorter lives and their proportion decreases over time, quite rapidly in fact. That’s a good thing.

  1. When the CBC was introduced, many parts of Canada had no broadcast network. The Ceeb filled a need at the time.
That need has gone. I am told that even with their massive subsidies, the Ceeb is dead last in ratings in every major market in Canada. Even behind relative newcomer Global.
Canadians now have access to more stations and platforms than ever, at least until C-11 passes.
And they are not choosing CBC. The lies, the obvious slant, the shoddy Canada bashing…pick your reasons.
CBC has no more reason to exist. If they are able to put together a business model that allows them to survive past defunding, go for it. Go full PBS or CKUA style. But let your own viewers pay for it. Both of ’em.
The sign off I am looking for is the final one. I would even stay up to watch that.

    1. First timer – seriously agree with you. Grew up in a small community in southeastern BC, and in “wartime housing”. The men in our community had all “taken the King’s shilling”, but that didn’t stop them from taking a hard look at the country in whose service they’d enlisted. The comment I grew up hearing was that “Canada ended at the Rockies, and BC ended at Hope”; this reflected their sense that the community they lived in was valued only for the wealth it generated which could be siphoned off by the relevant federal and provincial governments. They were wrong in their eastern boundary – it was actually at the Lakehead – but not wrong in how the government in Victoria looked on at our region.
What, do you say, has this to do with the CBC? Back in the day, it was only radio, and the local station combined “Saturday at the Opera” with some fairly cringeworthy offerings. But at least CJAT? was local, and did give us local news. For years, I would look at Maclean’s Magazine and similar Toronto offerings about all those wonderful CBC TV offerings which we never saw. When, eventually (and – I think – via microwave), we could get CBC, what we got were “feeds’ from east to west. For anything remotely local, we tuned into the Spokane stations. And, as I recall, there was at least one year when we finally got the Grey Cup on TV thanks to the Americans as CBC didn’t deem us worthy of attention. Even now, the area I grew up in is newsworthy only when something serious has happened, and then they send in an “expert” from the coast to explain to the locals how they should respond to said event.

      1. Thanks, Frances
I once heard a CBC radio announcer proclaim that a musical group he was about to played had toured all of Canada – from the Maritimes to Thunder Bay.
And we all have heard how the CBC has lectured the ROC on how evil and unworthy we are. Remember “Little Mosque on the Prairie?”
Right after 9-11, to show us all how bigoted we are. And to mock the title of a series that celebrated both pioneer life and the Judeo-Christian world view.
TBH, most of my current hatred of them has to do with the deliberate lies regarding the Trucker Convoy, and how those lies were used to invoke Martial Law. They knew exactly what they were doing, and why. We hates them, oh, yes we does!

        1. For me it was during Harpers tenure as PM. The lies about Canadian forces turning over Taliban to U.S. for torture. Which was proven to be false, with no retraction or apology.

      1. Sell off the assets?

With one proviso: the buyers cannot use any of the equipment for broadcasting, or any type of communication.

    2. Does this mean we will need “pirate” ships broadcasting from the high seas(“RadioFreeKhanaduh!)” so we can get accurate news and not government approved news.. Will the stuff we get be in French only?

    3. The only thing I want to know about MotherCorpse is where they bury the bones so I can go urinate upon them…

    4. I am expecting our Prime Minstrel to increase funding to the CBC and to give it rebranding with a new name, perhaps: Vérité.

    1. Killing as planned. Governments are still anxious to kill as many of their citizens as possible. Why? I have no idea.

    1. BlackFox

A Fking Apology does Not in any way shape or form, cut it.

      1. 100% agreed, sir. If we don’t hold them to account, they WILL do it again. There HAVE to be consequences.

  2. BREAKING: David DePape Pleads Not Guilty to All Charges in Paul Pelosi Incident – In First Court Appearance He Is Not Shackled, His Arm Is in a Sling

,,,,,,but Tamara Lich was shackled in Canada for a mischief charge?

Hoping that he states on the record, that he is a male prostitute bought and paid for by Mr. Pelosi. And that he’s yells aloud,,, ” I’m a patsy, I’m a patsy! ” just like Lee Harvey Oswald, indicating he’s being framed.

    1. Thx. Reminds me of the movie “Drumline” w/ Orlando Jones. It’s a decent enough watch.

    2. Those guys were simply awesome….!!!

    1. EAT MORE COW
We’ve raised an entire generation on cardboard.
Explaining Greta Thunberg, “… damaged children whose brains do not develop optimally”.

    1. What a flip flop.
To think just a generation ago, Russia the heart of the USSR , was a part of The Axis of Evil.
To quote Pogo , ” we have met the enemy and he is US “.

    2. Shocking and insane. How did such a person get to be a congressman? I suspect Russia’s Christian beliefs are a motivator for attacking them for some. This guy is a psychopath.

      1. “How did such a person get to be a congressman?”

Got elected by equally insane idiots…

  3. Who hired Fruit Fly Guy? A study of the CV of those execs/admins would shed light on your question

  4. Anonymous Beltway insider source:

“The desperation of the neo-liberals, who are going to lose the elections in November: they are escalating and doubling down in their quest for MORE war so as to hide their Covid crimes and the failure of their sodomite LGBTQ policies meant to destroy society. Ukraine is the only card they still have in their hand.”

    On the EU:

“The EU governments fear that they will be overthrown unless there is a distraction. I do not see that there will be any compromise [on war] by the Straussians, who are enjoying this.”

  5. A fun read Who’s Who & connecting the dots:
    https://thealtworld.com/alastair_crooke/the-many-interwoven-wars-a-rough-guide-through-the-fog

“Yes, there are no less than five overlapping and interlinked ‘wars’ underway – and they need to be clearly differentiated to be well understood.”

“Europe’s bourgeoisie leaped with alacrity upon the U.S. liberal-woke ‘train’. Drawing on the latter’s identity politics input, plus the Club of Rome’s ‘messianism’ for de-industrialisation, the merger seemed to offer an ideal imperial set of ‘Values’ to fill the EU lacuna. ”

“American pro-war Republicans, as well as pro-war Democrat neo-cons, had already clambered onto ‘that train’. The mobilised cultural-ideological forces suited their interventionist project perfectly: “Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival” (Wolfowitz doctrine) – Russia firstly, then China second.”

  7. I used to work in a tv station that had both CBC and CTV feeds.
I remember the sign offs well.
Once the station signed off – we would run the Indian head test pattern locally.
The main CBC/CTV feeds from Toronto would then play any commercials and PSA’s for the feeder stations to record for playback locally.
ie. the ktel patty stacker and the fishing magician.

    1. Don’t forget the Record Selector.
Of late I’ve been watching some re-runs of The Beachcombers and finding myself enjoying them.
      That Relic.

    1. Late summer 2019 – we (husband and I) got sick. Down for a few days – then ok, save for me; got better but suddenly got sick again – very sick, fever, sore throat, coughing like mad and all that crap. I went to the ER since we had no primary physician at the time; they gave me 5 days of antibiotics -I was so sick I never questioned it- took the meds but got very sick again. Back to the ER explained that I needed at least a 10 day treatment – they gave me 7; I got sicker – so now it’s November and I’m fed up, lost weight that I didn’t have to spare – finally xrays; then sent me for more lung tests at another hospital – phenomena – gee ya think? But I blame them for causing it. Was it covid or just a bad flu bug – not sure – we did get sick this past Feb – but got over it just like we normally have when you get a bad cold or flu. Never went near a medical facility with that cold – nor have we gotten any shots. We opted to be in the control group.
At this time in 2019, HB was doing some traveling to north Africa for his work.

  8. What’s this?!

    Vancouver Chooses Sanity

    https://www.city-journal.org/vancouver-elects-new-mayor-on-common-sense-crime-platform

“Marking a massive shift in local governance, voters in Vancouver, Canada, have elected center-right candidate Ken Sim mayor with an impressive margin of more than 36,000 votes (out of about 135,000 votes cast) over the incumbent, progressive mayor Kennedy Stewart. Sim’s new ABC party also won seven out of ten city council seats and a majority of the school board and park board seats. His crime-focused platform echoes those of other public-order-focused local candidates in U.S. communities.”

A “center right” candidate, huh? I guess that could mean anything from just right of Marx to an actual center right candidate, depending on your politics. Can anyone from Hongcouver elaborate?

    1. One of his major planks was more trees.
As everyone knows Vancouver lacks trees.
      Oh, and sustainability.

  9. Here’s one for the books.

Name Confusion Is Just One Factor in an Intriguing Race in Pennsylvania

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/chris-queen/2022/11/01/name-confusion-is-just-one-factor-in-an-intriguing-race-in-pennsylvania-n1641755

“Rep Mike Doyle (D-Penn.) has served in Congress since 1995 when he won the seat that Rick Santorum vacated to run for Senate. He announced his intention to retire at the end of this term after the state redistricted much of his district into the 12th.

In one of those quirks of fate that can leave you shaking your head and saying, “only in 2022,” the Republican running for Doyle’s seat is also named Mike Doyle. No joke.”

  10. Interesting…

Pentagon Confirms US Boots Are On The Ground In Ukraine

    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/pentagon-confirms-us-boots-ground-ukraine-close-front-lines

“The American troops are said to be performing “inspections” of US weapon caches…However, what’s clear is that despite the White House’s ruling out of “combat” troops, this is the start of perhaps inevitable ‘mission creep’ – as has been seen in other conflict zones (such as Syria).”

    1. This warlike bullshit from Biden and all his ancient pals in DC is completely unhinged.

If the re-naming committee for the Redskins had been honest, then the Washington Warlords would be playing on Sundays.

  11. Shocka…

    The ‘Islamophobia’ Industry Goes Bankrupt

    https://www.frontpagemag.com/the-islamophobia-industry-goes-bankrupt/

“These findings are eye opening to say the least. Remember, the entire premise of Islamophobia is that, in their ignorance of “true Islam,” xenophobic Americans are prone to stereotyping Muslims as violent, hostile, and uncivilized. Yet, behold the truth: no one segment of the American population sees Muslims as violent, hostile, and uncivilized as much as those who are best acquainted with everything to do with being Muslim—that is, Muslims themselves.

    Yeah, bold mine.

    1. “Do not watch this if you are in a good mood.”

Night before last, after that Atlantic piece came out, I started reading comments on different websites in response. A few here, a few there. Then I hit Ace of Spades. I couldn’t read past the first 200 comments (at that time there were nearly 700), far too many hit very close to home. Two and a half years of shit condensed into mere minutes. Perusing these heartfelt & heartbreaking stories not only picked the scab, it tore the wound wide open. I didn’t sleep well, I was furious, I fumed much of the day yesterday, I was storming around the house. Even a half hour sit down at noon outside watching the giant, fluffy snowflakes drift down, along with two fingers of bourbon at hand and a cat in my lap, did little to temper my mood.

I finally hit the garage, cranked the blues & puttered around for a couple hours. Cleaned up a bit, lined a set of tool box drawers, finished a small project on the lathe, whatever I could find to distract me.

Finally worked. Came in for a late supper, I was smiling again.

Never forget what these criminals did to you, people. And never again.

  12. The CBC became corrupted during the time of MacKenzie King. the Liberals were the first to realize they could use it to further their causes. If you do a quick search before the CBC and after the CBC, or even do a quick search of before the Chief Elections officer and afterwards, you see the left started winning 70% of the elections, whereas before that time, the won only around 30%
