    Dealers must delete their records after a year etc. Make firearms licenses something that don’t need to be renewed. Get rid of the restricted classification altogether. And so on.

  34. I’m old enough to remember when Harper promised to re-write the Firearms Act. He never made any attempt to do so. When called on this, his party then claimed they never made any such promise, they only said they’d scrap the so-called Long Gun Registry. And even that, they failed to accomplish, as any resident of High River Alberta can tell you.

    Sadly, I’m not expecting much from PP’s CPC. Even if he wants to overhaul the Act (the ONLY way to fix this mess), I doubt the party will let him. The “Conservatives” aren’t conservative. I wish it were otherwise.
