Who’s next? First it was fossil fuels that were demonized, now is it agriculture?

U of R professor Jim Warren: Who’s next? First it was fossil fuels that were demonized, now is it agriculture?

They say misery loves company. But having company is probably small comfort for people working in western Canada’s energy industry. That being said, it is becoming clear that the fossil fuel industry is no longer the only major economic sector in the west to find itself targeted for abuse under federal environmental policy. Just a few weeks ago, farmers and ranchers were singled out for special treatment on behalf of climate change mitigation and environmental protection.

And bonus points for this:

Each bovine would have to fertilize 23 acres – a big job given that over a third of them are young calves. The effort would require the production and distribution of bullsh!t on a hitherto unimagined scale.

  1. Canada’s GDP rose slightly because of the oil and agriculture sectors. Both sectors that Blackie is trying to destroy.

  2. I find on my farm, to eliminate purchased fertilizer, you need about 1 cattle beast per acre to have sufficient manure.
New world order is clearly looking at slashing production. Other option is go medieval and leave a third of land fallow in the rotation (still with reduced production on the other two thirds).
If new world order is going to take away fuel too, they will be Pol Pot because farms are going to be tiny by today’s standards (except for ranching). We’ll go from 1-2% of people working in agriculture back to 80% working in agriculture.

  3. Nitrogen oxide and Co2 are essential gases ! If we could only corner the Bullshit coming from Ottawa things would be fine!

  4. If they weren’t trying to starve everyone, what, exactly, would they be doing differently?

Raise fuel prices, raise food prices…hmmmm.

  5. “Who’s next?”

That’s pretty easy to figure out, once you realize that what is actually being demonized is everyone who isn’t a member of the big club.

Plus whatever servants they deem necessary for their upkeep. Those are merely denigrated, rather than demonized.

Protests At the Queen’s Embassy in Australia had police officers stationed at its front door during Thursday’s protest. Unable to get inside, confused would-be revolutionaries inadvertently attacked a branch of premium jeweller Cartier’s, which happened to be next door.

  6. If you want to kill 5 billion brown skinned people, that’s how liberals are going to do it. No white people will starve.

  7. You’re still not getting it. The goal of the radical environmentalists, who actually control almost all of the Departments of Agriculture, Environment and Climate in the combined West, is to reduce the world’s human population to a few million paleolithic hunter-gatherers. No industry. None. No agriculture. None. No medicine. None. No literacy. None. Humanity must be put back 100,000 years.

Read Paul Erhlich and John Holdren. Read “Earth Cancer.” These lunatics are now in control.

    1. Recently read “The Road”. The author never said what caused the apocalyptic conditions. Maybe it was Gang Green succeeding beyond their wildest dreams.

      1. McCarty recently released two new books. He can always be counted on for a light-hearted uplifting read.

    2. Paul.

The desire to reduce human population is the one & only goal of the Rothschilds and those who control said Family as far back as the mid to late 1600’s mirroring their meteoric rise to prominence. THEY have been telegraphing (Fully Financing), their intent for centuries via War upon War…until the mid 1980’s when the digital age began. It was then they KNEW they had the means within their grasp to fully control the planets Population….

The earliest iteration of that desire that I recall was Maurice Strong and his comments that appeared in the Vancouver Sun Newspaper in the mid 60’s decrying the apparent “overpopulation” then. ~ 1.5 – 2 Billion.

      F. Forward to 2022 & Well…??? Here we are folks… looking at the Abyss

…and said remaining hunter gatherers will all be assimilated into ISLAMIC Culture raising Sheep – Once in, the only way out is a pine box. That will be the permanent lock on humanity and in 3-4 Generations, all previous knowledge will be completely driven out of said 1-2 million SLAVES.

The HUNGER Games was prescient in flippin spades and a movie built by LEFTIST Totalitarian Filth (HollyWeird).

    3. Thank you Bob. You are obviously a critical thinker and I would not play poker with you. This is exactly what is going on. Man made climate change is absolute BS. They know it. They also know that the mastering of fire was mankind’s biggest advancement, next was farming. They know that if they remove those two tools, mankind is doomed. This has been planned for a long time and now is being implemented. They have the whole of society fighting the the great common false demons, while they anoint themselves as Gods. They and all their useful idiots must be named, exposed, held to account, and dealt with.

  8. Bovines and BS we have aplenty in Ottawa, pretty much all of Lieberal, NDP and Green. Now if we would be able to translate all the BS they spew to physical weight, we would have all the manure we need to fertilize all the Canadian farmland.

  9. With so much bullsh!t being used, isn’t anyone worried about contamination of water supply (underground water, streams, dug outs, ponds, etc)? That stuff has to go somewhere. Wasn’t that part of the problem with the water in Walkerton?

But on a more immediate note – no one in Ottawa has any experience in agriculture – I doubt they even have a garden or a couple of tomato plants in containers on their balconies. Accept that they hate us and really want us to eat bugs

    1. The problem in Walkerton is exactly the problem with modern political administration. Nobody takes responsibility for anything.

The wells in Walkerton were very shallow (5-8 m) and susceptible to contamination from surface run-off. As long ago as 1979 the locals were warned about the potential contamination due to agricultural run-off. It eventually happened in May 2000 after a heavy rainfall.

In typical “it’s not us, it’s this guy” reactionary fashion, two local brothers “responsible” for the water supply were convicted on charges of common nuisance in 2004. Neither of the brothers had ever received formal training on how to run a community water supply.

Who was really in charge of the Walkerton water supply? Why did they ignore recommendations to fix the potential problem that were made repeatedly over a twenty-year period? Who hired 2 incompetent and untrained people to run the water supply for a town of 5,000 people? The answers are related to the fact that there is no one in control when a problem occurs.

In 2010 I had a water well drilled on my property. The cost was $6,000 to get to 124 feet. For a community of 5,000 to have 3 modern wells drilled into a deeper part of the aquifer would have cost about $3 per person plus the cost of linking the wells into the city water infrastructure. Seems pretty cheap compared to 6 lost lives and 2,000 people sickened.

      1. The farmer with the cattle pasture self assessed within an Environmental Farm Plan.
I doing so he identified the risk of the cattle manure to the ( downhill ) municipal well.
Part of the plan involves corrective actions and record keeping.
He notified the town and recorded it.
Someone would have audited his EFP so he could obtain a certificate and access a small amount of funding.
The town failed to do anything about it like building a burm to prevent rainfall contamination.
PS It’s pretty easy to kill e-coli with small amounts of chlorine bleach……

        1. If I recall correctly there was a fault in the well casing that may have been noted and not dealt with. In the subsequent enquiry into why the bureaucracy failed and people died the 2 brothers were found to take water samples from the tap in the office rather than direct from the well. A total S__t show which resulted in more provincial bureacracy.

      2. “Who was really in charge of the Walkerton water supply?”

I’ve seen this show before. There’s the Organization Chart and the Official Plan, which outlines in great detail who is supposed to be doing what. Then there is “what we actually do.” Which bears no resemblance to the Chart or the Plan.

The Chart and the Plan, if implemented in Real Life, would end up with the water supply failing in two weeks. Because everybody would be very busy indeed reporting to everybody else, and no work would get done. So nobody reports to anybody, little fiefdoms are built, and they all fight each other for money. That’s why nobody drilled new wells, there was no advantage to any of them in the bureaucracy. Had there been an advantage, they’d have drilled a hundred wells to create a new and possibly even more idiotic problem.

The point of a bureaucracy, and the reason they do it that way, is to eliminate the possibility of being found responsible for anything. Those bureaucrats all retired at full pension, and the two fall-guys took the fall just like they were supposed to.

Expand to national size, and you have the Canadian government. Now try to imagine the Americans, an order of magnitude bigger.

  10. If a farmer applied manure as fertilizer to match NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potassium) one would have to cover the ground with about 3 feet of manure get the same amount of nutrients as commercial fertilizers.

    1. Not true at all.
Most recent fertilizing that I did was using 6-24-24 at 160 lbs / acre. That means 10 lbs N, 38 lbs P, 38 lbs K per acre.
Beef cow / calf manure might be 11-7-10 lbs per ton. To get about same fertilizer on P and K you’d need to apply about 4 ton of manure per acre. It is only 12% dry matter so mostly water. 1 ton of water is 36 cu ft. 1 acre is 43,560 sq ft. Call it 150 cu ft spread over 43,560 sq ft which works out to 1 / 24 of an inch deep. Give it a coating and you’re good.

  11. This was inevitable. Agriculture has more impact upon “nature” than any other human activity. Thing is, the green shirts want us dead.

  12. There are two times where politicians should be tarred and feathered (at the very least)….those two times are if they interfere in energy and food security. And when they do interfere, they should be ignored….completely.

  13. Fertilizer is just one of the many things other than fuel that comes from the oil and gas in the ground. Windmills and solar panels will never be able to make anything other than electricity.

And another thing. Most people probably don’t know just how much fantastic stuff we get from cattle besides the meat that we eat.

  14. I think this goes beyond the excuse of “saving the environment”. Oil and gas, and farming (fertilizer and cattle) are massive money makers for people who don’t vote for liberals. This is to also punish and demoralize their opponents.

  15. While perusing Nutrien’s website, Canada’s biggest fertilizer producer, I think it’s safe to say they’ve taken a big gulp of U.N. climate change kool aid. Whenever I see the words “sustainability development goals” that’s code for slow and steady extinguishment. Now you might think it’s counter intuitive to pursue policies that actively seek to regulate how your product is made dramatically increasing its cost but once you see Blackrock and Vanguard as institutional investors, let’s just say it isn’t a huge leap.
I find it perplexing to the nth degree why people don’t believe them when they say they want to reduce the human population.

But no – to answer your question they’re not after the agricultural industry at all, everything’s fine.

  16. If you want to drive an electric car … go ahead, have fun with insane mode … if you can still make it home.
If you want to be a vegan … go ahead, enjoy your kale sandwich
If you want solar panels on your roof … go ahead, enjoy replacing them every 10 years

But what is it with these two groups (or the same one group) that they want to FORCE everyone on the planet to DO as THEY SAY? To DO as THEY DO? What screws are loose in these authoritarian Fascist personality types?

    1. Well, they are the superior ones, Kenji. Freedom and so forth is all very well for them, you know. But us poor uneducated b00bs can’t be expected to choose -correctly-, so they magnanimously do it for us. It’s more efficient like that.

That’s why I tell them to get off my lawn. Supercilious pr1cks.

    2. Its simply another manifestation of the totalitarian instincts revealed over the last 2-1/2 years. Their success in forcing near-universal vaccination just encouraged them. “Yes, we can kill these sheep if we feel like it. Resistance will be minimal.”

Likewise, the insistence that January 6th was an “insurrection,” while the burning and killing seen in the summer of 2020 was (to borrow a phrase) “some people did something” further reinforced the notion that with the collusion of MSM, any script can be sold.

    3. The vast majority of politicians (and their deluded voters) are sociopaths driven to control how other people live their lives through the coercive power of the state always justified by the “common good” which was used in every horror committed against humanity in human history. The US constitution was designed to guard against such but the US has devolved into a democracy at end stage. Mass hysteria has replaced critical thinking thanks to socialist education. The Eloi weren’t born that way, they were manufactured in public schools and Marxist humanities faculties.

  17. We can’t be polite any longer.
We need to tell people that if they support the political parties that want this then they are simply morons.
    Stupid politicians don’t elect themselves.
Enough of the virtue signally green cult.
Call them out on their stupidity.

  18. L – “What’s next?” : 1. Pandemic. 2. Famine. 3. War.

Those who planned the first two are pushing hard to risk M.A.D. on the 3rd…

Once started, those 3 may go into a positive feedback loop.

No party in Parliament opposed #1 and are strangely silent on #2, as for # 3… on the topic of escalation, crickets, so far.

  19. Ok so why was it never a problem when North America had 100 million buffalo roaming around farting and shitting. Way more than what have in cattle herds. All more lies and bullshit.

    1. If there are no bison then the grassland ecosystem of North America collapses. Cattle restore the balance. Big trouble without bovids.

  20. Every major environmental disaster is a result of government policy. Three obvious ones:
    1. Ethanol augmentation of gasoline. Now understood to generate more carbon emissions than fossil fuels; responsible for dramatic drawdown of the water levels in essential aquifers; and actively encouraging the deforestation of much of the South American rainforest, to permit cultivation of soybeans, whose production in the northern hemisphere was supplanted by corn, the primary ethanol feedstock.
    2. Palm oil. That’s a real mess there, with environmental consequences confined (and therefore not commonly visible to the uncurious voting public) to the third world.
    3. Burning wood for power generation (DRAX). Devastation of the forests of the southeastern United States, while simultaneously emitting far more CO2 than natural gas-fired power generation.

Facilitating all the deception is a hard turn away from scientific knowledge in the school systems of the west, simultaneous with a focus on the promotion of woke, compliant political correctness. Actively crafting a compliant and ignorant population who not only do not question, but are incapable of understanding the lies of the (government-funded) Climate Seers makes everything easier.

The eventual outcome will dwarf anything accomplished by Stalin and Mao.

  21. The federal government continues to berate and punish the western provinces for their lack of cooperation with federal initiatives and regulations. What we are seeing is the result of the autocratic imposition of a great many ill thought out intrusions into areas of provincial jurisdiction i.e. agriculture, resource management, the fossil fuel industry, the environment and health care. Resistance to the recent firearms measures from all three prairie provinces and refusal to use scarce provincially funded police resources to enforce it seems like the culmination of frustration. We live in flyover territory. The only time we see a federal presence is when the PM flies over the prairies on his way to surfing country in Tofino. There is no effort made at consultation or discussion. Just endless edicts from Ottawa-based ideologues and temper tantrums from a hypocritical spoiled frat boy PM who has never heard the word no before.

  22. The only Bullshit I’ve seen is what comes out of the mouth of the pm, his government and the morons who have bought into this climate garbage.

  23. I’m not waiting for the Liberals to demonize me. I’m going straight to Satan and have him demonize me direct. Eliminate the middle man.
