I’m Not Eating Bugs

National Library of Medicine- A parasitological evaluation of edible insects and their role in the transmission of parasitic diseases to humans and animals

The experimental material comprised samples of live insects (imagines) from 300 household farms and pet stores, including 75 mealworm farms, 75 house cricket farms, 75 Madagascar hissing cockroach farms and 75 migrating locust farms. Parasites were detected in 244 (81.33%) out of 300 (100%) examined insect farms. In 206 (68.67%) of the cases, the identified parasites were pathogenic for insects only; in 106 (35.33%) cases, parasites were potentially parasitic for animals; and in 91 (30.33%) cases, parasites were potentially pathogenic for humans. Edible insects are an underestimated reservoir of human and animal parasites.

  1. No, thank you.
I can tap trees to get sugars to add to my Squirrelly diet…

    1. Speaking of which.
The Squirrels in my area nip off the tips of maple tree branches with green leaves and store them.
      Just an observation…

  2. Of course but the idiots in Ottawa will deem this study as ‘non-science’ and some ‘specialist/doctor’ like dr Tam will come up to assure us-all that it’s safe&good to eat bugs.
Like when they kept saying “it’s OK to mix-and-match” Pfizer with Moderna with AZ.

  3. Pfft…. that study is 3 years old. All the right “experts” have since been paid off and all the right people have positioned themselves for huge profits. Now it’s time to “science” again!

Never. Ever. Will insects be on the menu

      1. The cockroach may die by my hand but it’ll never get eaten. I’ve never actually seen a cockroach in real life. I think cockroaches find winters in Saskatchewan too cold and they think the humans living here are crazy.

        1. Late 1980’s, downtown Calgary apartment. Cockroaches all throughout and temperature outside at the time was 20 below. Was glad to give my exit notice to the super. It was a temporary home anyway.

          1. I’ve heard talk of cockroaches in prairie cities. I just assumed they were talking about politicians.

    1. We all eat bugs, but not necessarily deliberately or perhaps not knowingly.
Lots of bugs in food inputs (grains, fruits, vegetables). Some get cleaned out, some don’t.
Bugs are in food plants too. Some get cleaned out, some get cooked up.

  5. Think of all the new and exciting pandemics we can experience! I’m sure there’s a mask that will stop parasites!

    1. Then they’ll decide that the anti parasitic drug ivermectin is no longer any good for parasites and we’ll need some new jab

  6. “I will eat as many cockroaches as it takes to please my WEF Globohomo masters to defeat Putin!”

  7. True North did a story on the cockroach, er, cricket food plant in quebec.
CBC told a bunch of their lies about how it was only for pet food.
    All lies of course.

  8. It’s alarming that this is another Solution to a Problem that doesn’t even have to happen. IDK Who is running things, but whoever it is hates humanity. Demanding Normies address the deranged according to their preferred pronouns? How is any of that even possible? Screw that, screw them, I’m not participating.
No bugs. If I’m messing with bugs, they are goin on a hook, and I’m fishing.

  9. Look at it this way, if bugs are so rich in protein and can be incorporated into your diet, why the HELL was that NOT introduced to Ethiopia and the Sudan back in the 80’s when Sally Struthers was laying those informercial guilt trips on everyone.

    1. Very good point. I’ d like to hear the answer from one of the idiots now touting eating insects.

    2. Because they weren’t going to get multi-zillion dollar loans to build giant bug farms, that’s why.

Also because the starving people would have killed them all when they found out they were eating high-protein cricket flour.

  10. Do I have to file an FOI request to find out what dollar amount of the Trudeau parasite’s family $ 8-12,000 monthly grocery list includes crickets and other variations of the new green proteins?

  11. Anyone want seconds?

    Firsts?

African Fried Insect, the Colonel’s secret recipe.

    Want flies with that?
