  1. As much as I love Ray Charles, I prefer Willie Nelson’s “Georgia on my Mind.” Don’t ask me why. I just love it.

        1. While we are on the subject of Willie, I first heard this song playing a video game. Yeah I’m in my seventies but I still enjoy playing them. Anyway, it is a throw back to actual C&W music and not the crap that passes for country these days. I hope you all (or should that be Y’all) enjoy it.

  2. Is absurdity our friend? Let me explain. I have not been popular on the home front with my tin hat concerns. When life is basically easy ,you can basically stick your head in the sand and pretend there is nothing nefarious happening. Reality has kicked some butt here . A school about an 1 1/2 hours from where I live has apparently installed a litterbox in a classroom. This is to accommodate a student who identifies as a “furry.” One school about half that distance away thinks this is a wonderful idea and someone is proposing they need one as well. This is in conjunction with a big board explaining the various letters and pronouns at my Grandkids school and counseling that you can be anything you want to be. Reality has a way of biting you in the ass. All of a sudden I am not that big of an idiot. I am not sure it is a fight we can win, so I may become a teacher at home. It’s beyond belief.

    1. concerned – So is the school encouraging the student to use the litterbox?? In the classroom? And I thought reading children illustrated books on sexual grooming was bad. BTW, don’t stick your head in that sand..

    2. I think we are badly failing our children. This is not helping them. Children need structure, rules and guidance to understand where they fit in. They need to develop a sense of right and wrong. I think our entire social/ cultural dynamic is broken. Our civilization is being destroyed. We are the destroyers since as a society we have lost our own sense of right and wrong.

    3. A rancher buddy of mine would discuss school with his kids at dinner. They would tell him what was talked about in the classroom and he would set them straight. His kids grew up libertarian/conservative like he and his wife were. Core values are what matter. When all those other ideas are filtered through your core values machine you don’t even have to think about them to know they are bullshit.

  3. I sure am glad the police have the time and resources to investigate the horrendous threat posed by RCAF pilots nicknames. Expect new pilots to be called Princess Unicorn and Cafe Latte with Extra Sprinkles.

  4. Point of order: Blondie is a band not the name of the stage name of the singer. Also Call Me is quintessential epic 80s cheese.

  5. All trans women have a prostate. “The prostate is not removed as part of genital reconstructive surgery because of the risk of side effects such as urinary problems and damage to nerves”.
“The following people have a prostate:
    – cis men (men who identify as male and were assigned male at birth)
    – trans women (women who identify as female and were assigned male at birth)
    – non-binary people who were assigned male at birth
    – some intersex people.”
What the hell does that even mean, “were assigned male at birth”? Assigned by who, God? Why don’t they just say were born male, or were born biologically male?” They make it sound like your parents or society or the patriarchy assigned your gender at birth.

    https://prostatecanceruk.org/prostate-information/are-you-at-risk/trans-women-and-prostate-cancer#:~:text=Yes%2C%20trans%20women%20have%20a,were%20assigned%20male%20at%20birth)

“trans women and non-binary people assigned male at birth can get prostate cancer.” So, trans women have a higher probability of prostate cancer than biological women and a higher probability of breast cancer than biological men who don’t have cosmetic surgery and female hormone injections.
To become a Christian you must be born again (spiritually). A male who wants to really become a woman must be born again, (physically), which I am guessing is a lot harder and no one has figured that out yet. Cosmetic surgery isn’t even close.

    1. That puts paid to the lie about Russian shelling of the place.
The Ukes under Zelensky are truly dangerous maniacs.

      1. Sure, the shells came in from russian after making a U-turn, because that is what shells do.

  6. The Language of Dictators.
Here’s a headline typical of what’s appeared in US publications over the last two weeks.

“After Biden’s announcement on student loan forgiveness, borrowers have countless questions.”

Loan forgiveness, debt forgiveness; both terms are inherently dishonest. When the principal amount in question is $500 billion, possibly more, with some financial analysts projecting that the amount may be as large as $1 trillion, there is no such thing as “forgiveness.” There’s no magical “debt forgiveness” button, and there are no “debt erasure codes” analogous to the “nuclear codes” that government can invoke to erase financial obligations of this magnitude. No “poof”, but possibly a minor judicial mushroom cloud.

Il Capo di Tutti Capo Jo Biden, of the Biden Crime Family however, loves the terms “loan forgiveness,” and “debt forgiveness,” so we’re hearing a lot of that, both from Il Capo and from The Media.

The proper term for Il Capo’s action is “debt transference.”

If you, as I, have labored constantly and strenuously for years, avoiding all frivolous expenditures; never going on vacation, never eating out, never buying costly tickets to country, rock, reggae or pop performances or, God forbid, classical and opera concerts, (for journalistic transparency, I’ll admit to minimal spending for entry to dive bars featuring Corb Lund) so as to eliminate all personal debt and thereby establish a pristine and respected credit rating, you should be irate. Irate because this $500 billion plus debt was just transferred (thus “debt transference”) to you.

You now have a personal debt of $2,503 which you didn’t have three weeks ago, that you personally did nothing to incur. It was simply (illegally)gifted to you by Il Capo di Tutti Capo Joe Biden.

Note that Republicans in congress intend (on days when it is raining and they can’t get on the golf course) to dispute Il Capo’s legal authority to implement this debt transference. Princess Botox (one N. Pelosi, sometimes referred to as “Walls For Me, But Not for Thee”) of California apparently has no intention of disputing Il Capo’s illegal and un-constitutional action, despite its obvious conflict with the constitutional assignment of spending authorizations of this magnitude to the House of Representatives. N. Pelosi has been known to occasionally hang her mirror in the House of Representatives cloakroom, and occasionally claim responsibility for leadership of the “majority” therein. Congressional insiders, who declined to be named, suggested that N. Pelosi welcomes spending actions in excess of $500 billion, wherever they might originate.

    Financial Tips:
If your newfound $2,503 debt weighs heavily on your financial soul, you might consider immediately dispatching it, using the $2,500 annual savings in healthcare costs which, (per Barack Hussein Obama, Il Capo’s political rabbi) accrued to the “average American family,” as a result of the implementation of Obamacare.

      1. Joe – good point. The NDP could start the ball rolling with an ad like “We want to start a dialogue with those who aren’t sure if MAID is right for them. Our trained psychologists will bring a new perspective to those who have not considered all of the benefits of MAID such as a break from annual taxes or improved social status for helping the collective! If you know someone who you feel is a good candidate for MAID, visit our website at MAIDMachtfrei@NDP.com

  7. The Insanity of Dictators.
Remarkably, I’ve seen no concern expressed in The Media, or The Social Network Ratsnest about Il Capo Di Tutti Capo’s access to US nuclear codes.

In an unprecedented speech on Thursday evening, Der BrandonFuhrer vehemently and angrily attacked, and seemingly declared war on 74 million citizens of the Unites States of America. In his eyes it is now clearly unacceptable for any American citizen to endorse political positions which differ from those held by the Democrat Party, and Der BrandonFuhrer.

This from a man who will obviously throw down in a parking lot over a difference in opinions of ice cream flavors.

There is no legitimate rationale for permitting his continued access to the Nuclear Codes.

FYI, there are in the US military arsenal, tactical nukes. Not all equipped for inter-continental deployment.

  8. Question for the hive mind. Given that Scouts Canada is woke useless these days, is there any similar organization that teaches outdoor skills (camping, hiking, bushcraft, etc) to kids? Asking for a friend with a 13 year old daughter who didn’t deal with the lockdowns well. Parents want her to spend more time outside and less on her phone.

    1. Depends on kid’s background and languages she speaks. Polish or Ukrainian boy/girl scout organizations in Canada are much more old fashion. I am certain there are others. In the summer there are also outdoor camps for children run by religious organizations, these can be quite fun and educational.

    2. What’s wrong with her parents? Are they not able to spend time in the woods, or at the lake with her? Seems an opportunity they would not want to miss.

      1. Parents are in their fifties and have health issues that make it unfeasible. Plus they don’t know squat about the outdoors. I’ve taken the kid disc golfing a couple of times and she responded well, so I suggested scouting to the parents. Then I checked the current Scouts curriculum and unsuggested it.

    3. Try a wild life club every province has one they teach kids to shoot responsibly and lots of outdoor activities as well. Good luck.I think Ontario has Ontario hunters and trappers assoc. Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation etc

    4. What about those cadet groups? I don’t know much about them, but see them occasionally. Also, they could look into some specific outdoor activity — horseback riding, sailing, skiing or hiking group, for example.

      1. Cadet groups have gone woke, the officers are all under the direction of woke military. Officer training is heavy into inclusivity and transgenderism. Skip it.

  9. A year-old Washington Post, written during the height of the Me Too movement, and written with that bias. But it describes the child-molestation conviction of Prter Yarrow (of “Peter, Paul and Mary” fame):
    https://web.archive.org/web/20210517122113/https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2021/05/17/peter-yarrow-carter-pardon-assault/

It’s an old story, but it gets to the heart how left-liberals have privilege under our justice systems. In that sense it is worth a read during idle hours this three-day-old holiday. Ps, I first learned folk-guitar solos from Peter, Paul and Mary albums around 1963-64 onwards.

    1. Imp, thanks for that.

If no one is dying, then no one is buying.

I hope there are substantial lawsuits underway against the pharma giants.

  10. He’s exactly right, and evil is rearing its head everywhere.

The moral relativism that is rampant in Western culture simply encourages it.

  11. Because we are no longer a society where religious beliefs dominate, some people will dismiss this, but it is the essence of what has gone wrong in the world. Spiritual renewal is the only way forward. Book sounds good.

  12. Bed, Bath and Beyond’s chief financial officer (CFO) jumped out of a office tower window:
    https://www.foxbusiness.com/business-leaders/bed-bath-eyond-cfo-gustavo-arnal-man-jumped-nyc-building-report-says

Don’t know the reason for his high jump. But senior executives of major corporations make a ton of money. It is true that major retail outlets will be facing difficulties during the forthcoming recession. There are stories of investors jumping out of tall buildings during the Threat Depression.
