12. I’ve been extremely critical of soi-disant “conservatives” who want the government to force private companies to give them free shit – which is precisely what demanding that government make social media companies allow you to post whatever you want on their service is.

    This is something else entirely. I’m not sure there’s any legal precedent for this in US law, but between this and the government seed funding it’s clear that these companies are de facto government agencies. Not that it’s going to matter, because no one has the power to do anything about it.
