A few weeks ago I was exploring Amarillo’s historic Route 66 neighbourhood and came across this store. Inside I discovered a large colour poster featuring a man in an RCMP uniform and a pretty woman beside him. It turned out to be promoting the 1936 film, Rose Marie, set in the Canadian wilderness. Lo and behold, the film is online!

  6. A number of “Canadian luminaries” demand that CTV take action to correct the damage done to Her Honour Lisa Laflamme, as shown in a full two-page ad appearing in Saturday’s Globe and Mail:

    …luminaries like Anne Murray, Kim Campbell, Wendy Cukier, Allan Rock and the like. Gracious the ad must have cost $30,000+ — and the corporate media are chattering about it all weekend. Inflation? Shortages? Housing costs? Er, not that important.

    1. Laflamme can pound salt and so can the hag trio of Wynne, Campbell and Cuckier and every other dog eater like the Big C McKenna.
      Salty bum Laflamme should then be dropped on the front line between Ukraine and the Russians and give us that news.

    2. Nothing is stopping these luminaries from starting their own broadcast station.

      Or even a Laflamme podcast out of Toronto.

      I’m sure all the progressives would watch it.

    3. The Lisa LaFlamme story is now all a public relations exercise. LaFlamme and her husband are experts in the field and have roused the troops. Her explanation on her Twitter account was self serving and meant to do maximum damage to CTV/Bell. It worked but it changes nothing.

      She got let go with a big agreed to settlement at the end of June. My guess is Bell offered her a respectful exit but she refused chosing instead to fight. She lost. Boohoo.

      There are LL dissenters who claim she is difficult to work with. Maybe Bell just had enough of her crap.

    4. This episode is all about the clash of intersectionalities: Lisa LaPhlegm is left-wing and a woman, however she’s not the correct colour. It’s a real dilemma for the left.

    Are these women being threatened or insulted?
    Calling Freeland a “fcking bitch” may be considered rude, ignorant and base by most people, but is it a threat? Is it illegal?

    I think its part of the plan.
    Not just dissent, but disagreement will be criminalized.
    Writing or saying you disagree with a government policy or program – anti-immigration = hate – will get you fined, fired, dispossessed and maybe even jailed sooner than later.
    Juthtin the gay Monkeyboy has already set the precedent and Freeland backed him with her every living cell.

      2. A commenter to this story in the Calgary Herald or maybe it was the Sun, made the rather pithy observation that the man’s words were “inappropriate”, but, to use a phrase uttered fairly recently by Freeland’s boss, ” quite understandable”.

    4. As I recall, the attacks on Stephen Harper, Stockwell Day and other Conservative politicians were every bit as vicious as the verbaI attack on Freeland. If women are in politics, I don’t think they should claim or expect any special privileges. The verbal attack on Freeland is an expression of how people feel about her ( and Trudeau’s) destructive policies. It may be crude, but it reflects how many people feel. Focus should be on why people are angry– not on a superficial and not particularly helpful claim of “inappropriate language” and “sexist attack.” It is up to Freeland to prove the slur was not entirely correct. Freeland was instrumental in introducing and defending the Emergency Measures Act against the Freedom Convoy. She is indeed a traitor, and (in my view) a “fcking bitch” .

    Canadians were a very tolerant people.
