  1. That does not include those businesses that closed and never reopened. Look in any small city mall where over half the fronts are shuttered. It’s going to be a rough ride.

    1. TG eh..?

Lol, both my and my wife’s Initials..

Agree with your post. And not only in small towns..seeing it in Calgary as well…lots.

    1. Isn’t it funny how the country of Sweden is having none of these problems?

Oh but of course they are having none of the problems like we’re having here in Canada, because Sweden never locked down their country, and they continued on cautiously, but not ham handed and recklessly.
Sure they were struck by covid-19, just like every other country but they seem to have weathered the storm quite well by keeping all their businesses wide open.
Of course Sweden didn’t have a totally unqualified
moron Prime Minister like Justin Trudeau and his gang of halfwit, unqualified, incompetent government ministers screwing up everything they touched.

  2. The Covid supports are gone.

Many of these business were zombie businesses, border line and propped up by reckless government handouts and loan guarantees.

    1. Not every business was like that.

Justin got his orders to ruin this economy and he has delivered.

      1. That is no exaggeration. That is happening.
BUT the average Joe/Jane is unable to process evil of this scale so claims of this kind are easily dismissed.

Only fairly recently have I myself been able to believe the claim that there is a depopulation agenda at work. I always thought that was a bridge too far. Not now!

They’ve been telegraphing their intent for decades if not Centuries…once the digital age arrived, Twas easy to implement.

Maurice Strong was bleating over Over-population back in the 60’s.

Look to who it was that perpetrated WWI ,& WWII…?? as well as financed both sides…?? None other than the same families over n over again.

  3. For the Jagderp Turdhole Basic Dicktatorship it is, “mission accomplished”, but there are still some independent business to kill.

Get ready for the WEF Digital ID tracking system. Yep, this war against freedom and human rights by our Globalist rulers is only going to get worse.

    1. Agreed Sean M, in my small home town, there are dozens of small businesses that never reopened, and it ain’t that big of a town. Multiplied across the country and for that matter the western world, my guess is that this was a deliberate and successful move by the WEF. The big guys made out like bandits and the little guys went broke.
I’m thinking that when the digital rec systems start to multiply, I’ll then really need to mask and hoodie/dark glass up a lot more, and just say covid if I’m asked by any authority why I’m covered up. Follow the science. /s

      1. That won’t help. They have soft ware now that can identify you just by your gait.

  4. Trudeau 2015: “We have to know that a large percentage of small businesses are actually just ways for wealthier Canadians to save on their taxes.”

He’s been against small businesses for a lomg time. Its no surprise that big box stores were able to stay open while mom and pop shops had to close during the lockdowns.

It’s all part of the Great Reset. Its easier to control gigantic corporations than independant stores. Especially since those corporations have their boards taken over by woke people.

    1. They don’t need to control the big businesses as they are lock-step with the government.

      1. There is a word for that economic and governmental system… can’t think of it at the moment.

  5. I drive Uber, some time ago I had a rider who works for a company that advises/helps businesses on how to pay less taxes. He said that a lot of owners of small and medium size are selling off whatever they can and leaving the country. Not good.

    1. They are not just leaving, they are escaping. Owning a business requires you to have an idea what is happening on the other side of the hill, they know this is going to get very bad here, and freedom is set to end.

  6. Dan Kelly, the guy who was more than ecstatic to say vaccx passports were a great idea and could have cared less about the ramifications for society. Great spokesman for business. Idiot.

  7. We spent fifteen years building up our outfitting business and then along came turdo and blubber douggie and ALL the cowardly MPs and MPPs and pretty well erased it … just like it never happened. And we’re at the point in our lives where a rebuild isn’t in the cards.

But we’re kind of philosophical about it: over the years we collected tens of thousands in licensing fees, paid our federal and provincial taxes, and bought the vast majority of our supplies at local businesses that paid municipal taxes…. and that just ain’t gonna happen anymore.

So I guess it’s kind of a schadenfreude: from now on we’re happy to be giving our tormentors (all levels of government) the amount of support they asked for.

  9. With a partner, I started a small investment firm in 1982.
    He retired in 1990.
In 2000 I knew regulation would do me in. In that same year I garnered, after a year of sleepless nights, an exemption from a new regulation that would have killed my business model which had been enthusiastically approved earlier. But even then I knew I was toast. Thankfully at 70 when the jig was up in 2019 I was able to throw in the towel with zero debt and a sizeable investment portfolio. I figured 50 years working was enough.

A comment above referred to regulators desire to have as few regulatees as possible. That is absolutely true and means as few as possible very large firms that they could supervise over lunch.
