#1. Why did the Pentagon take three months to figure out that a trip by the House speaker to Taiwan was “not a good idea”? It’s not as if relations between the US and China took a turn for the worse only a week ago.
Mystery #2. Why, when they already have their hands full with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, would Biden’s national security team want a repeat of the 1996 experience?
#3 and #4 aren’t mysteries: Age and booze.
Because China Inc seems to be good bud’s with clan Biden, part of me suspects China’s supposed saber-rattling about Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is a contrivance to make the flailing Democrats look better before the mid-terms.
The US has been stirring shist in Ukraine for years but is now stoking China and Serbia. One must ask if the Dementocrats ARE looking for a Big Distraction for the mid-terms.
Tawain, though, is a Golden Goose. If the CCP attack it, it will hit their own economy as well as the rest of the world’s.

I contend F. Joe Biden allowed Russia to believe they had the money (foreign exchange and taxes) and political capital to invade Ukraine. Just a few years ago, Russia was cancelling new ships, submarines, aircraft and tanks as they did not have enough oil and gas revenues to finance their military construction. They were even cutting back on conscription to save money.
We cut back our oil and gas production, which drove up World Gas and Oil Prices. That filled the coffers of Russia when they collected more money for each and every barrel or therm. They also were able to ship more oil and gas to world markets to make up for the demand that was not filled by American (and landlocked Canadian) oil and gas. That was more revenue to finance their war machine.
F. Joe even removed the Trump initiated sanctions on constructing the Nordstream 2 Pipeline and allowed Russia to complete the Pipeline, making Europe more dependent on Russian Energy. You are seeing how that is playing out these last few weeks.
