  1. “But how do you expect me to order my stir fried cockroach with oyster sauce and Wuhan bat soup?”

    1. Kid you not: had a colleague from ‘Nam that went by “Hank”, but his birth name was Fuk Ng Gai (not sure about the correct spelling of the third part of the name, but something like this)

  2. The wrinkle in June 4 uprising was that some people wanted freedom while others still lived comfortable lives albeit while the state allowed them some comfort.
This time they not only ran out of other peoples money, the other people are now realizing it was stolen.
Some of them I’ll warrant are driving the tanks.

    1. You are correct and I think it came about during the tenure of Stephen harper

        1. It was a Basel Committee on Banking Supervision initiative. It was widespread, and banks that don’t adopt this measure, get penalised in other ways. The banks offer great rates, and great product. Until shit goes South.

      1. Farmer boy

        ABSOLUTELY it did.
page 536 of some Omnibus bill.
        ROTTEN Conservative BS even then…

I expect little from the current crop of Cons either.

ITS TIME TO LEAVE THIS BULLSHIT CON FEDERATION

      1. It is bondholders who can have their bonds flipped into equity to shore up a balance sheet. It was for new bonds, not retroactive.
Doesn’t mean they would not go retroactive on depositors. The ruling class (including the likes of Mo) are snakes looking after themselves first.

        1. Just ask the bondholders of GMC and Chrysler. Obama threw them under the F150 and gave those companies to the UAW pension fund

    2. Mark Carney, then he got sent to England and cause havoc in their banks. He’s a WEF soldier, like Freeland and JT Castro and company.

  3. Could you imagine if that happened in Canada?

    I mean – I can’t, but still …

    1. I can easily imagine it , the army has been called on the people three times . twice for serious things against the people , both my liberal governments , and once to shovel the snow in Trana ,

      1. Four times if you include the Regina Riots and boxcar rides to Ottawa in the dirty 30’s. Was it a federal liberal government during the 1930’s. Would have to look it up.

      2. Can you imagine Canadians en masse surrounding their banks or can you imagine shrugging their shoulders and walking away from their life savings, not too worried because the government can print money for Netflix?

        I can imagine the latter.

    2. Well they sort of did it to a group of people during the Freedom Convoy. It’s just a matter of scale. You don’t really need tanks.

    3. It can’t happen here, Osumashi. We don’t have any tanks in Canada, they’re all in Germany. They’d have to use cop cars.

    1. Gold and silver are down dramatically over the past few months. You need to do your homework.

      1. Can’t eat either.
Guns , grub and ammo is where it’s at.
That and a trusted network of like minded individuals to cover for each other.

        No man is an Island.

        1. curious JB, in those unprecedented last weeks and months, when the best brains in the petrochemical industry have lost the ability to corner, oh, say, a new species of locust, what good are the bullets?
how many ‘grasshopper’, is the target (pun intended) average dead insects per bullet?
just rake them and rake them with an automatic and hope statistical odds in yer favour?
or careful aim, lining up as many in the bullet trajectory?

what about the other 30 billion in that huge cloud than blocked out the sun when it passed?

        2. Don’t forget:

          Water purification gear and storage.

A SERIOUS “first-aid” kit that has been comprehensively upgraded, ditto the training and ability to use it all under stress.

Fire-starting gear, (not just a box of matches and a disposable lighter). REALLY good hiking boots and appropriate clothing and shelter for wherever you may have to roam.

Gold? Absolutely NO gemstones, ever. Gold? It, like everything else will have a “street” price”, be it in useless currencies, or in quantities of the stuff you actually NEED to survive. Other than that, being in possession of gold merely signals to the Rievers that you are silly enough to think you can buy your way out of trouble; NOT a good look.

And, If you are “packing heat”, unless you and your associates are thoroughly trained in the use and care of guns and ammo in “harsh” environments, the aforementioned Rievers will relieve you of that load very quickly.

          1. While I do have physical gold as part of my doomsday kit (it may be of more value later in the recovery phase than in the collapse phase – one gotta have hope), I suggest vodka and cigarettes for bartering purposes. Vodka is really quite awesome, serving as mouthwash, desinfectant etc.

      2. J West, and others who responded, thanks for the input.
The four G’s, Gold Grub, Guns, and Ground, is a round up term of what one needs in times of…unrest/crisis.
Yes, I have physical gold and silver, but also other forms of exchange such as north American fiat, and multiple trade goods, plus alcohol and cigs. My kit has as much over the counter and first aid that suits my needs. Water purification items I also have. Guns are useless as sticks without ammo, so of course that I also have, in plentiful supply, and yes I am able to use em under stress.
The grub part is continuously upgraded, as there is never enough, plus you need the ground part to store your supplies and “kit” and also be able to defend said ground, but as well, you need a quality bug out plan in case of overwhelming odds, and somewhere to bug out too, must be considered. Not personally at all partial to Vodka, but have a small amount, yet I didn’t consider the medicinal and mouthwash aspects of said alcohol, so I will be adding more to the kit, so thanks Cranberry Farmer. Bruce, your comments are heeded as well, re Reivers, and yes, John Bosley, thanks, I do have a small cadre of connections to join together if needed for group survival. It is always a good idea to share such things with like minded people, and SDA continues to be a great wealth of information, so thank you all.

  4. If scumbag Trudeau would have tanks, he would use them on us no pb. But so far he had only horses to trample us with.

    1. “Tanks! Now why didnt I think of that?”

Trudeau never admired their basic dictatorship as much as today.

    2. The Canadian tanks are all in getting a rainbow paint job while their occupants take a course in wokeness.

  5. Canadians view the well-being of their gaolers as more important than freedom, so its pretty clear to me that they’ll take the same stance with their money, given the opportunity.

  6. Despite what has happened in Cyprus, Greece, and here in February/March, I have such a hard time drilling this into thick heads: once you put your money in a bank, IT’S NOT YOUR MONEY ANYMORE!!!

    1. You’re right. If they can stop you from withdrawing it, it’s not really yours. If we’re good they’ll let us have some of it, for now anyway.

    2. If you can’t pile it on the floor and stand over it with a gun, it’s not yours. Whatever “it” is.

  7. That’s only a step away from Elizabeth Warren’s call for a “wealth tax” … only a short step away.

  8. Interesting. Fortunately Canada doesn’t have enough tanks even to protect all the banks in Ottawa. If only I were exaggerating.

    Man, isn’t communism just GREAT?!

    1. The Canadian Armed Forces and every police force in the country couldn’t even begin to impose martial law if just a small percentage of the citizenry says, no. Enough. But since Canadians are rank cowards, they’ll let our tiny military and overworked cops run roughshod over us at Trudeau’s orders.

    2. I think half of them are in Wainwright and half of them are at Shilo. There might be another half in southern ON somewhere.

  9. I think this may be another important part of the financial situation that’s happening in China:

“We Decided To Stop Paying”: China’s Mortgage Payment Boycott Spreads As Property Suppliers Refuse To Pay Their Bills…according to Bloomberg, some suppliers to Chinese real estate developers are now also refusing to repay bank loans because of unpaid bills owed to them, a sign that the loan boycott that started with homebuyers is starting to spread.”

    https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/we-decided-stop-paying-all-loans-chinas-mortgage-payment-boycott-spreads-property-suppliers

    1. And CMHC is over there holding many of those notes. Another brilliant move by Canadian Bankstas which has us Canadians now paying off the bad debt instead of the Chinese. We are paying for their land whilst they are coming here in droves and buy and inflating our real estate prices and shoving out children right out of the market!!!

      1. I’ve read people renaming Canada as China North, Australia as China South and New Zealand as New China.

Meant to be humorous of course but all of the Prime Ministers of those countries sure seem to admire China’s policies…except for China’s unapologetic use of fossil fuels.

      2. Glace..??

And isn’t the Canada Pension Plan fund invested heavily in China..??

  10. As far as Chicoms are concerned, well, let’s hope it is a step one in their reset.

    1. Well, I wouldn’t hold your breath just yet. This is nowhere as widespread as, say, collaboration with Russians in Ukrainian government offices.

It could get that bad, but I suspect China could just sell off a bunch of the US debt they hold, maybe to the EU or India? Conversion to Renminbi.

      1. Your lame attempt to insert irrelevant anti Ukrainian venom has been noted.

  11. How does anyone know that those dozen or so tanks lined up on a business street in a Chinese city are protecting the banks? Why, that could be for a parade. Or a celebration honouring their servicemen. Or more likely, they’re being ferried to Ottawa in case there are any more Freedom Convoys that make Justin uncomfortable.

  12. And as usual the ass cancer that is the Canadian Liberal media ignore this.

When the Canadian banks fail your then deposits will be magically turned into shares in those banks using the bank bail-in provisions.
    Worthless shares.

  13. Just like they’ve already done with the gain-of-function virus, masks, solar panels, and iron-fisted censorship of unapproved opinions, “progressives” will be all too happy to import this Chinese tactic here too.

  14. It’s because Chinese banks over financed real estate that was so overbuilt. Now that real estate is unsold or unrented and the banks are getting squeezed they are feeling a lot of pain. Lots of other industries were overbuilt and overfunded especially smelting and refining.

The Henan Banks are a special case “special” that is because of massive corruption and theft. Most banks in China have deposit protection but if the owners don’t follow the “rules” then deposit protection is lost.

Chinese citizens have little choice as to where to bank and they are compelled by law to use small local banks in their own district. So if your bank is selected to not be protected, you are sol.

    It’s a disaster.

  15. Meanwhile in the mainstream media.
    1. It’s hot in July
    2. Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine
    3. Something something Princess Sparkle and Harry the Red
    That’s it.

  16. Kim Just-un Trudeau will do the same , just wait, its coming to Canada.

He did freeze bank accounts when the freedom truckers were in town, didn t he?

    Its coming to Canada.

I’d hate to be right about this one, but it seems I will be.

    1. It won’t be a freeze, it will be a forced conversion to a central bank digital currency. You know, the money that has an “off” switch.

And I fear that all of PP’s talk of bitcoin was just him using a simplified term for the CBDC he intends to bring in because as we know he has no WEF connection whatsoever.

  17. anybody draw a parallel between the fire and brimstone warnings of yore and certain disconcerting if not outfight alarming trends and developments that mirror prophesy?
jist askin. lm still partly waiting a final opinion.
which could change in the event of, oh, worldwide hyperinflation halted by worldwide adoption of digital currency . . . .
    stuff like that.

    1. …and the guy ushering all this saying “don’t worry, you won’t eat bugs! You can eat beef and chicken and lamb! You just need to sign here and here and adopt the CBDC. You know, you won’t be able to buy and sell without it. 6uild 6ack 6etter!”

      Yep, it’s coming.
