  2. Tell me again how cops are the good guys. They have consciously enabled the slaughter of children, and none will be held responsible for it. Jackbooted thugs one and all, better with cancer than without.

I feel that Peel’s original model for policing – every citizen is responsible for preventing and apprehending criminals, the police are merely citizens for whom it’s their full-time job – was a good one. Whether it can be prevented from morphing into a Praetorian Guard or that’s its inevitable end state is a topic for discussion.

      But I can’t say they are all bad people, just as I no longer say they are all good people. They are just people.

      1. The SS were just people, too. Most of them just went along to get along, like cops do now.
        Doesn’t mean the SS wasn’t institutionally evil, like cops are; they are not there to keep the peace, or to defend our freedoms, they are there to enforce the will of the politicians on the people. Period. In fact, I’d say cops are worse, in the SS, if you shot your mouth off and disagreed with policy, you’d get shot, but with cops, you only get fired, at worse. The number of cops who actually come out against evil policies is less than 1 in 1000. So, 99.9% evil.

        the COLON is too stupid to grasp that it is a political problem, not a police personal problem. Yup certain types are attracted to police work, and they are not the real bright ones. I’v had a lot of interaction with cops, some good, and much not so good. But you will not fix or change things till you fix the political aspect of the hiring, and those who dictate policy of policing.

      3. Eagle, with a handful of exceptions they are bad people. Why would one become a cop these days? To serve a government, to bully and to throw your weight around.

        How evil are they was perfectly exemplified in Uvalde. They made things worse and enabled slaughter to innocents while being busy subduing those who were willing to risk their own skin to rescue those children. That’s evil. They are evil.

        Not one of them knocked the teeth of the cowardly CO and charged in. Not one disobeyed the orders. Not one even looked the other way while some parents were trying to get in. They all held the blue line. They’re evil. Pure evil.

        And now they are stonewalling the investigation, that is evil too.

        1. I can’t help but recall an RCMP friend who upon heading to Ottawa for some work came back and said that place ‘is evil, just evil’.

    Their job is to run headlong into danger not hide and wait for somebody else, never mind stopping someone with the courage to do so.

  5. And speaking of investigations … there is one BLATANT fact that I haven’t heard discussed AT ALL: These classrooms had an open side wall … with WINDOWS!! Look at the school map:

    So … where were the police officers in the landscaped courtyard!? Why didn’t they have EYES ON THE PERP? Why didn’t they outflank the shooter from two sides? From the courtyard windows AND the interior hallway/doorway? Why weren’t these officers talking to one another on the radio from BOTH SIDES of the shooter? Come on ma’aaan … I have not heard ONE WORD about taking up tactical positions to put eyes on the shooter from the window side of the classrooms. Why? I haven’t even heard ONE QUESTION asked about it. How bizarre … how bizarre …

  6. They train infantrymen to assault machine guns and they do. The major requirement to be a deputy in rural America is to be fat and stupid. They are paid a wage for a lifetime waiting for the unlikely day when they have to be brave and save someone’s life. They should all be charged with theft and murder. They had shields and guns and the lying bastards didn’t even check the unlocked door while kids were being killed. There should be a 10 year minimum jail sentence for failing to do your job and letting kids die.

    1. And the school janitor who had a work order to fix a broken door lock sitting on his desk for a year and a half … while he came to work … ate lunch … and went home … FOR PAY $$$ … and did NOTHING.

      If my kid was killed … I’d sue each and everyone involved … the individual cops, administrators, and janitors who all shirked their duty … which got children killed. Think of the pain and suffering of the little girl who called 911 at least THREE TIMES … only to end up getting shot and killed!? Worth $50 M at least.

      Everyone involved should be fired and publicly humiliated.

  9. I don t know if this is the case with the Uvalde police,
    but as more and more people are hired for not being male ( preference given to female candidates ) , or not being white ( preference given to black, brown, yellow or red candidates ) or not being hetero sexual ( preference given to LGBTQs candidates ) there are more and more incompetent people being hired who will cheat and lie to hide their incompetence.

    and this will get worse.

Preventing an armed citizen from saving his own wife is what is known as aiding and abetting a felon in the commission of a felony (oh, and theft of the gun, among other crimes), at the very least. Will he, or anyone else, have the guts to charge those police with the crime they obviously committed? If not, than no one has room to even complain. Those who will not hold the police accountable for a clear felony have no excuse if felonies are committed, including murder and mass murder.

    In the land of the free and the home of the brave, when it stops being the home of the brave, it stops being the land of the free.
