Well, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen four pasty white middle-class kids in a pasty white middle-class neighbourhood (i.e., mine) struggle to glue up a “defund the police” poster. I mean, truly, it took four of them.
Of course, mommy and daddy (or more likely mommy and mommy) would scream blue bloody murder if someone littered in the park, and we all know where the crime wave is gonna hit first if these lunatics get their way.

After the police performance at the convoy protest, where the police disgraced themselves so badly, something needs to happen. I would prefer a reorganization, some senior terminations, and a commitment to refuse to obey illegal orders. Defunding is a blunt instrument, but if it is all that is available, so be it.

Black people commit more crime. In Alberta and Saskatchewan a different minority of 2 or 3% to remain nameless commits half the crime. Minorities like Chinese and East Indians in general have both mothers and fathers and commit less crime.

That used to be the case, but Somalis and other black muslims are giving the Jamaicans a run for their money. The crime community is being enriched by diversity.
The report starts with the assumption that criminals can be found in equal proportions to their mix of the populations; an assumption that hasn’t been true for a very long time. One might even look at the victims of crime, and see that minority populations show up in a greater amount than what one might expect from their share of the population.
Once you understand that, this report is ultimately a nothingburger that will result in more crime, as the police will become obsessed with making sure that their interactions and arrests match up to the percent of the population, no matter who is committing the crimes.
Now break down the crime statistic by race… Wonder if there is any relevance there?

Here’s a thought: don’t defund the police, but move the policing into other (presumably paler) neighborhoods, and leave those hard put-upon people of assorted colors to their own devices. You’re being held at gunpoint in the midst of a home invasion? So sorry, the police are otherwise engaged patrolling crime free areas so as not to offend your sensibilities. They’ll get to you after they run the numbers to make sure they haven’t had too much of a presence in your ‘hood. But hey, at least they’re not arresting those gun toting drug dealers hanging out on your corner.
