The Taiwan Express has been J-16’s, SU-30’s and HK-6 bombers…no old Migs or Tups. I don’t think they’ve exposed the J-20’s yet, unless they have and the radars didn’t see them in the ADIZ.
Ugh H-6 is a Tu-16 clone. Yes bombers have long lives (B-52 , Bear etc I know)
Also J-16 and Su-30 are different versions of pretty much the same airframe. Interestingly enough, seems like J-10 is not proving very successful and that is the most modern indigenous plane they fielded in significant numbers

Canada hasn’t met the 2% of GDP and 20% of that amount for military equipment / spending since Brian Mulroney was PM.
Since then, spending has fallen to the range of 1.2% – 1.4% and equipment spending has fallen at times to 10% of the 1.2% of GDP.
And, there are some stories of this amount being largely spent on military pensions, which I think is supposed to be against the rules. Canada doesn’t appear to care though, and spending on military is shorted by $16 billion each year now.
Are the chinese blowing their wad on military spending? Sure some of their gear is garbage, but if one of their finer jets has an air incident with an Aurora, what’s tired Old Canada going to do about it? stop buying chinese crap? go to the UN and say “China’s behaviour is unacceptable”?
Whatever, it’s not like Old Canada’s going to be in a position to actually do anything about this.
China and Russia will veto anything at the UN which reflects badly on them, especially since the recent Ukrainian affair, and the enfeebled idiot in the White House won’t know what to do either.

At this point, there should be a pool, do Russia and China sail over and just roll in and take over, or does the US roll across the border to defend their interests first? Not like we could do much about either. Ottawa would probably at least make a sad attempt at holding off the Americans.
