Now that some airlines are beginning to push back on the vaccine mandates for air travel, it’s possible that the restrictions might end next month. In the meantime, putting the economy through the blender remains official federal government policy. Almost no one in authority seems to care about the impact.
In April, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority said it held 2,204 planes from abroad on the tarmac, versus just eight in the same period pre-pandemic. In the second week of May, 18,000 arriving international passengers were held on board for longer than 30 minutes and 3,000 for longer than 75 minutes. The Canadian Airports Council said it is taking four times as long to process people as it did before the pandemic.

Ahhh, HA HA HA HA HA!
A government engineered plandemic. No worse than the seasonal flu, yet more are being killed by the vaxxes than the whu who flu. Liars each and everyone.
Who is John Galt?
Sorry Alexis, WorstJet was all in and beyond in Covid craziness until now. Start with apologies and rehire and compensate those you fired for not bowing to the jab.
I had a discussion about that earlier today. I mentioned that I can’t hire a U-Haul truck to haul the stuff that’s in my house to Edmonton as I have no way to get back to Fort St. John.
The reaction? “It must suck to be you.” When I responded by saying that the gunk hadn’t been properly tested, I was told that it had been tested for years. I don’t think they were referring to proper clinical trials.
The timelines for development of the vaccines don’t admit the possibility of years of testing.
Math is hard.
These particular substances couldn’t have been tested for more than 24 months, barring theories about covert pre-2020 viral knowledge. mRNA vaccines in general have been undergoing testing for a while.
What this leaves out is that none of that testing has produced a successful product until now. (Assuming the current performance qualifies as “success”, about which there is, to put it mildly, room to disagree.)
Hitch hike home and NEVER vote liberal.
Still, screwed up times. Have to side with the “you supported these draconian rules and fired your own staff, solve that FIRST” team.
I would rather drive across the border and fly an American carrier from Seatac anyways. AC has always been terrible, and WJ went downhill after they were privatized.
It’s cheaper flying out of the states, the service is better, and they won’t have mask mandates. The only problem then will be Cho Xiden and his silly border rules to overcome.
Clown World =Xiden=Blackie McBlackface
“Almost no one in authority seems to care about the impact.”
Everyone in authority cares about the impact. The impact is the point.
Stop giving these evil people the benefit of the doubt.
They don’t care because none of the policies, ruled and restrictions affect them or their finances.
+++guy
Ding ding ding. they aren’t misinformed or misguided. they cannot be reasoned.
they are achieving their aims.
there are no magic words no turn of phrase no special rendition of the facts that will open a leftists eyes.
they need to be ground down to dust and scattered before the wind.
Far as I’m concerned aircraft and hotel rooms can stay empty. When they should have and could have shown some collective clout two years ago they took the cowards’ route instead, and abandoned their clients and customers and treated loyal employees like pariah dogs.
sigh . . . . . . . . pollllllitiSHUNS (of EVERY ideology) same old same old, to whit, their motto:
‘solve’ one ‘problem’ by CREATING THOUSANDS MORE. see above.
F the government airports and the government airlines.
I’ll fly out of Buffalo and Detroit. Save money too.
What especially upsets me is that I have dual British/Canadian citizenship, BA does not require passengers to be jabbed, and the UK doesn’t require it either (not that they could stop me, being a citizen), yet I am banned from boarding a BA flight to London.
Because (political) science.
Personally I think it’s great, two weddings I can’t attend because I didn’t get the clot shot.
getting the shot or not, hasn’t stopped any disease/virus from entering the country. Global travel has never been totally restricted and not at all if you have the correct name/political standing.
Not so fast, hooman:

This morning I sent every single MP in the NDP party the following little cheerful note.
“I noted with interest that the policies of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, supported, and personally endorsed by you have now appeared and been evaluated in the prominent peer reviewed British Medical Journal. Prime Minister Trudeau is quoted in Table 2: Political rhetoric regarding the unvaccinated in the section on the use of stigma as a public health policy.”
“Here is the link to the article for your review: https://gh.bmj.com/content/bmjgh/7/5/e008684.full.pdf”
“I state again, this is the work of peer reviewed academic researchers in science and this is a preeminent journal of experts in global health. You are on the wrong side of both science and history.”
“Sincerely,”
Will they listen, I doubt it. But hopefully some underling squirms a bit before hitting the trash button.
