The Liberal Destruction Of Canada’s Military

As you probably already know, the Liberal Party’s former Supreme Court Justice came out with her report today. It calls for major culture changes. I saw this coming before I retired as an army officer. Some of the changes she wants is the possible closure of military colleges. Officer recruits would go to civilian university. And of course she wants more women in the forces, including more in leadership positions. I’m quite happy now puttering around the family farm and at my shack in Muskoka.

  1. Shrug. Been going on for sixty years….all Parties participated and will continue to do so. And Canadians didn’t give a ***k then and they don’t give a ***k now.

File this one under “Questions the Conservative leadership contenders don’t want asked”

    1. You seem to believe in the party system; most conservatives know it’s Blarney Science, a Uniparty with them all having the same policies and same ineffectual careers, leading to big fat pensions. Only the new parties are showing any sign of life and utility and, of course, the uniparty and it’s state funded media call them extreme right wing racists.

      1. ” … You seem to believe in the party system … ”

I do. As long as your talking about Canada’s UniParty system.

You can no longer purchase a handgun.
You can no longer sell it.
For now you can keep what you have.

Thanks to all those lollipop roosters who did a principled thing again and again and contributed to keeping that cynical worthless see-you-next-Tuesday in power.

    1. Baaahhhh! I’m not worried. Those freedom loving Conservatives (and their willnots and clingons) who supported turdo’s wuhan flu pogroms for 2 years will be tearing him a new one on this!

        1. Nawwww, c’mon now. Be honest. I chose principles. You picked pustules.

Just wait until your monthly retirement funds turns into a UBI…

      1. Just wait till they decide you have stolen your farm from the original owners.

      2. Oh, dear! How will robbers be able to stick up a bank?

If it’s illegal to do all that, does it mean that there won’t be any more police shootings?

        1. Ya want a gun? Go to any of the vibrant neighborhoods in TO. Un registered, un traceable.

  3. While watching the announcement, I was interested to hear that changes to the National Defence Act and QR&Os had been made in 1998 that allowed the military to hold trials on sexual assault. Madame Arbour indicated that the had not been the case prior to 1998. Which party made up the government during that period? I’ll give you one guess and it wasn’t the conservatives. Is there anything Liberals can’t screw up? What reasoning did they have to change the law in 1998?

  4. What your seeing with our politicians in expecting some fantasy as a reality is usually the same mindset of the officers in the field of battle.
Line up boys and hold the line while taking the bullet…
Many officers in the field didn’t come back as individuals who wanted to survive knew it was an impossible feat with that officer in charge.
Any type of consulting or suggestions would be ignored for the officer receiving a medal or promotion on the death of his comrades in the field.

  5. “Women warriors are here to stay” – oh please, women, like most men in uniform, like the uniformed swivel servant jobs for the steady paycheque and pension.

A literal handful of women made it in the combat arms career fields – and that’s after 40 years of trying to sucker them into combat arms. Training is a tough gig for guys, if they drafted men today most would fail if that were an option.

Royal Military College is the most expensive degree in the country and it’s paid for out of the defence budget. Shut it, privatize it, whatever, it isn’t producing better officers, the idiot professors there are just as liberal as idiot civilian professors.

The United States of America, geography, and General Winter have protected Canada’s sovereignty thus far. But Canadians voted for a post-nation state twice, they don’t care about resources in the Arctic, the Communist Party of China owning the Liberal Party of Canada, or anything that used to make Canada a nation. Shut the military down and Canadians wouldn’t miss it…

  6. Arbour is another globalist shill without loyalty to Canada.

  7. Gotta have a strong military to defend against regimes that would stop trannies in lingerie from diddling the kiddies. That’s what the anglo-sphere is all about now.
Canadian children would be better off under the Chicoms than under what passes for governance now.

  8. The only people the army is going to be used on is us. The more useless it is the better off we all are.

    1. You are neglecting the private militia Trudeau is bringing in from Ukraine…and they are not all from Ukraine…

Weakening our military also helps him…

Did you forget his father was a dictator good old Fidel…

That’s why he wants to disarm law abiding gun owners as well…

      The fix is in…

  9. I got out in ’83. I’d been informed the year before by a major at NDHQ that the number one priority of the CF (I can’t remember if we were even “Armed” at that time) was French language training — for a French Canadian soldier who didn’t even want it and was gung-ho enough to want to go on the upcoming field exercise as opposed to the ludicrous “French language” training he was subjected to in Ottawa at the hands of a civilian hire who parked him in a classroom with some audiotapes. I gave up on it at that point. Better to stick a fork in it, take whatever the world’s nasties decide to stick up our collective poop chute and quit pretending we have the will to defend ourselves. As Candace Owens says, “I don’t do ‘fake'”.

  10. “Principles? You still going to call enabling Potato “principled”?”

Heh heh heh. There’s two things that kept turdo at the helm: Scheer and No’tool. And anybody with a shred of honesty knows that.

And, as far as this latest kick at our Military goes, we can count on Conservative silence again … I mean, still.

  11. Who could possibly have a better handle on how to overhaul a country’s armed forces than a 75 year old woman with no military background?

    1. That was my reaction. Arbour is a leftist and globalist. The outcome was determined before it even began.

This country’s descent into brain-dead mediocrity seems to be accelerating.

  12. Another boon to Western Independence.
If Castroli keeps up this good work, soon the only armed force in Can Ahh Duh,will be rebellious farmers and hunters.
The latest “improvement” to our Military is basically a “Meh”,for we already cannot defend ourselves or our interests..so what if Dear Leader guts the services even further..
After all, these are the same “leaders” who have spent more of our money training Ukrainian Nasties, than they are willing to spend on Canadian Armed forces..
You can style and narrate it all you want,Liberals are traitors.
By their actions you shall know them.
    I foresee a great future market.”Kamikaze Drones”..
Every taxpayer will need a dozen.

  13. I suspect that today’s Canadian armed forces are not up to snuff as were the soldiers during the first half of the 20th Century.
(I am being facetious using the term ‘I suspect’)

  14. Just received this email…

    Buy Before the Handgun Ban
    http://www.theammosource.com

The Liberal government has just announced a Federal handgun ban is coming. If you want a handgun buy it now before we aren’t able to do transfers. From the sounds of it you’ll be able to keep and use any handguns guns you have so buy them now. We are working late doing transfers as the orders come in.

This isn’t meant to be a scare tactic to get you to buy more guns, it’s the reality of what the Liberal government tabled today.

  15. aren’t able to do transfers

In one write up, it stated: “removal of gun licences from people involved in acts of domestic violence or criminal harassment, such as stalking” – I don’t have a problem with that aim. However I do have a problem with what I suspect is their long term plan, to remove all hand guns from law abiding private citizens. I suspect that even the souvenir hand gun my father brought home from WWII will be liable to seizure, I was planning on handing it over to my son when my demise becomes imminent and I won’t be surprised if that will be banned, no transfers allowed. The gun will probably have to be turned in. It hasn’t been fired for 70 years, it is just a keepsake, FFS!!.

    1. “I don’t have a problem with that” that’s because you’re dumb and only concerned with things that might impact you. There’s a great deal of Canadians who’ve had children and been through the wonders of our family courts where claims of DV, stalking etc etc are used to deprive them of their children by malicious women. This move by the Liberals will harm a lot of innocent canucks

      1. No, you’re dumb, Criminals should not be able to legally buy guns, period. Yes, I know they will just buy them on the black market.

        1. No, you’re dumb, thinking that the government should decide who can and cannot legally own a firearm. Next thing you know, people like you will be calling for laws restricting chainsaws and ramsets.

          1. HiHo, HiHo
It’s off the deep end you go.
Now what is so wrong about restricting criminals from legally owning guns?
Why would you argue against that?
Do you drive drunk? No? Why not?
Because it is illegal and irresponsible and the government has laws against it?
So Bonehead, any other stupid comments you wish to make?

  16. I feel bad for cf members that are stuck under contract but I can’t imagine someone ever signing up at this point. Canada treats it’s military like crap. There’s no way to even fix it. Look at the procurement disasters.

I just wish some of the senior brass would stand up to the politician scum and just say no to these ridiculous deployments. We’re not capable of doing anything anywhere.

  17. Me too. 37 years in the RCN. I joined and served in what I refer to as a sweet spot in time. No women on board. No internet or satellite communications with the home front. When we departed home port all landlines and shore comms were basically cut until the first port of call. We could fart, burp, belch and swear to our heart’s content with no hurt feelings. Captains roared at us on watch and the XOs ruled the roost. It was a great time. Lots of fun and camaraderie. We worked hard and played hard. But, above all else, we were professionals.

Unfortunately the turd wants a woke Navy. He will end up with McHale’s. And why is it that 100s of millions of dollars in hardware and weaponry get to the Ukraine in record time while our own boys here in Canada are bogged down in the trenches of bureaucratic mumbo jumbo of Ottawa where it takes decades to procure just about anything.

    1. For the most part, most Officers in the Military were great, understanding and professional that I came across. It was the few hungry for action and wanting to get recognized by the other Brass that were the problem.
A couple of Peacekeeping incidents in barely a year in of Military training certainly were wake up calls to as situations would develop that could escalate a situation far worse.

  18. Funny, the CBC had a panel of “experts” to discuss military culture; and a former (female) Supreme Court Judge from Quebec, and a female defence minister to tell us how to fix it.
All women. None with any experience in the military.

Arbour said the problem is that the military is predominately made up of “white males.”

We need to recruit more females, more trannies, and more gay dudes to make our military an effective fighting force.

    yeah…that should help

Because the last thing a military needs is a bunch of aggressive men who like to break stuff.
