“Fact Checkers” are the people who will push propaganda that is so bad that even “experts” refuse to put their name on.
All signs point to “Fact Checkers” being employees of:
-big business (pharma, media, tech,etc )
-governments (politicians, bureaucratic agencies, intelligence agencies)
-globalist (UN, WHO, WEF…)
Whatever the fact checkers say is most often the opposite of the truth. Which, ironically, gives them some sort of value.

Yes, but the stakes could be higher here. As the topic was Covid misinformation, there could be multiple (potentially thousands) of accessory to manslaughter charges. Who would ever have thunk that French courts could be a beacon of hope in the world?

The replies are quite astounding considering where we are and the data we now have. These people would have believed chain letters in the 70’s if they were alive back then.
That’s not a problem with Facebook.
If your argument is that people are so gullible that they can easily be manipulated by words and the government needs to use its monopoly on the use of force to protect society from its own members acting thusly, then you’re actually on Facebook’s side. You just want to be holding the leash.
What right wing populists forget is the the whole reason Western society embraced constitutionally limited and representative government was to protect against populism. Maybe that’s not an effective counter; maybe Tytler was right.
Ditto Twitter to most of us. Which is why consequences for falsely proclaiming what is “the truth” or lies to the SEC about number of false accounts are so delicious. But break the 10 commandments (in this case, thou shalt not bear false witness) at your peril, because civilization actually depends on having common (and obeyed) rules. If they keep breaking the rules then ultimately the civilization will break and the edgy/sarcastic/blase/useless no-nothings of the left will find out the hard way that their denials of reality during the golden age doesn’t mean a tinker’s cuss when the going gets rougher.
