  1. Gas, grass, or ass … nobody rides for free. Yet another economic truism the Biden Communist cabal never learned. Why? Because they all grew up in wealthy elite leftist families, and have never spent a single day of their lives in the REAL WORLD.

    1. Gas, grass, or ass … nobody rides for free.

I’m old enough to remember seeing that as a bumper sticker.

  2. Prinz Dummkopf would love it if all the truckers went out of business. Think of how much less hate there would be! The crime rate will plummet to zero! Think of all the job openings available to the Roxham Roadrunners!

    Upon him I freely micturate.

  3. Oil is currently at $113.81 barrel US…

On the monetary side, there is a flow of money and job opportunities like we have never seen before in Canada.
Currently we need 1 million people for employment.
Banking capital and profits still at record levels and the don’t see a recession coming with these numbers.
The Bank of Canada wants to impose 3 more.

    Now the big buzz kill…

You are about to witness bankruptcies that are mind boggling in numbers as well coming very soon.

Reality really does suck when you ask, are you qualified to fill that job position. A multitude of positions take many courses to qualify and in some cases years.
The next problem not considered is fuel costs are astromically high and getting higher. No signs that that is about to change.
China, which we desperately need is still closed as our current inventory dries up.
I haven’t seen any new replacement for these vital products and parts as supply chain infrastructure vehicles break and parts are getting difficult to find.
Buildings take a multitude of different trades and materials to construct that is getting difficult to find too…

I see no alternative but a massive amount of bankruptcies coming and very little avenues that say it’s not coming.
Lots of money available but reality will really suck as businesses will be forced to close.
Too many government regulations that didn’t exist before.

    1. Job qualifications: things get fast tracked when needed; in Ontario, 2 yrs teachers college has been the requirement, now they’ll let you supply teach high school if you have 1 university course; went from 24-25 year olds starting teaching to 19 years old.

  4. You can have nice things.

Or your masters can have their war with Russia.

    What’s it going to be?

      1. NATO does invade it’s neibors, so has the US, except that now we so thoroughly dominate our neighbors, that we are left with invading countries on the other side of the planet.

  5. You have to be an idiot in trucking to not be making record profits right now. I suppose it isnpossible.the market is different where ethat person is. I set a record in March. $21k after fuel and insurance. No truck or trailer payments, only maintenance.

  6. It is getting worse slowly but it is. Companies had priced in loads for such and such a rate earlier this year are now trying to fill them and being laughed at. i was given a load out of winnipeg for OSB, the gross rate was 1200 can for a us load going to the twin cities. I refused it and was told it was a forced dispatch, so force someone else. Lots of loads that companies will lose money on. Many small companies will be going bust as they run out of money or simply close. Many loads will not move because they are simply not worth the cost.
Many of the open job positions will be eliminated as companies close or contract. Trucks will simply be parked and stored. Many new entries will disappear as they run out of money. Especially the ones coming in over the last two or three years. Lots of personal bankruptcies and foreclosures.
Supply constraints for gas and diesel mean spot shortages across the continent that will happen during the summer, causing more uncertainty. Why take a trip that pays when it does not matter because there isn’t any fuel half way there. If you are hauling produce or meat this is really bad. This applies to holiday travel as well. Spring planting and fall harvests will be severly affected. Farmers use ALOT of fuel, If it is a wet fall crop dryers run on natural gas will it be worth it to dry the crop.
Just an aside, needed to repair some eavestroughing on the house. Phoned half a dozen places, NONE available. All on backorder.

  7. You know, crude has been at $100 per barrel before now, and prices were not this high – nowhere near.
    What is different?

    1. Here in Canada, it’s likely due to certain people holding “unacceptable” views while burning diesel fuel in their vehicles. They have to be punished for doing so.

    2. WTI is $115, WCS is $100, fx is 0.78 so Cdn oil is $C128. 159 litres in a barrel gives you $0.81/litre crude.
The other $1.30 is refining, transportation, retailing, profits, taxes.

If we were producing more oil, our fx would be higher.
If we were producing more oil, price would be lower (supply-demand).
If pipelines were allowed, transportation cost would be lower (and we’d be producing more).
Taxes are also by design. It is by design, not accident.

  8. I am reaching the point where commenting is getting stupid. The insanity is beyond belief and I am at the point, arrogance aside, that most people, the exception being many who post here, are so much dumber than this old man it is a pathetic commentary on our society today. Please folks, I am not the greatest intellect on the planet, yet everyday I wonder if I really am. It is like living in a sci-fi movie or novel. I keep waiting for people to understand something, anything, yet it never happens.

    1. Harrison Bergeron.
The current dystopia was pretty well described by Vonnegut.
100 years of terror and insurgency is now our most favorable outcome.
