Why did they shutdown all the shops and restaurants in Ottawa?
Didn’t they even shutdown some huge Downtown Mall?
Why didn’t they stay open? You would think that a fairly huge, relatively immobile clientele during the Winter Doldrums would have been a Godsend after the COVID19 closures and disruptions? Were they worried about being looted and vandalized? After the first week they should/would have known there was no threat?
Maybe the high end expense account fine dining would not have prospered, but what about the middle brow fare? Pizza, sandwiches, etc.?
They shut down because they knew the various governments would hand out “compensation”, to fit the narrative.
