The abilities to the applicants appreciably declined over the years. Maybe we can have a robot administer the final solution

        Yup. If they’re not money-grubbers (“I have to charge more because I have student loans to pay off.”), they can’t count past 3 and they’d need a smartphone for that.

        One related example of the latter was made clear to me a few years ago. I had started selling my father’s tools and machines. One machinist told me that I wouldn’t be able to sell the mechanical measuring tools because apprentices nowadays don’t know how to read a set of calipers or a micrometer unless there’s a digital display. (I at least learned how to read a vernier instrument.)

        Fortunately, that same machinist referred me to a buddy of his who cleaned me out. He worked with rotating machinery and he liked the mechanical stuff because, as he said, once it’s calibrated, it tends to stay that way.

  4. perhaps someone should check the basement of the various legislative buildings in Canada. if you see any pod shaped thingees, enough to hold a human body, then we know the Invasion of the Body Snatchers is real. Best plausible explanations why ‘Conservatives’ morph into secularists and socialists and communists once they get down there.

  5. You think it is just Ontario ? I can tell you Saskatchewan is all in after conversations with 2 phys ed teachers last summer. Apparently I am just supposed to get used to it.

    1) we have a “Progressive Conservative” Party. And, yes, even though the Federal version changed their name to “Conservative”, and were actually conservative for about 15 seconds, the Ontario Provincial Tories are still, and unless the Ontario Party or Blue Party or People’s Provincial Party gets their act together, as progressive as they are conservative, depending on the doorstop.

    2) the PCs are run by Thug Fraud, the worse example of a second generation politician. In this case, his dad was a federal Tory backbencher for a few years, and whose brother was Doug. And as fun as Doug could be (and honest to a fault), not the smartest Ford, but next to Thug, he’s Mensa.

    3) Progressives are “island hopping”, and provincial politics is basically just a step from “high school” to “college” to “school board” to “federal” to the UN.

    And until conservatives start to learn that, we’re doomed.

  8. Sadly the makers of the world missed fact the takers and new world folks, who had nothing but time, no need to work (Gov or family handouts/support) were busy.

    They made use of social media, made makers apologetic or vilified, you privilege lot, you overlords, you middle class crew, and being busy working, supporting society, paying taxes, donations, raising a family vs sperm spreading to multiple willing single mothers, paid per child and supported by multiple agencies etc and Gov.

    We simply missed the current change, till the tide and waves over the heads of the folks who pay the bills, and support the country and its foundational institutions.

    Without a massive revolt, FU, cut off funding, and return to some basic moral and social ethics, it’s over folks.

    Atlas Shrugged comes to mind. Truly does.

    1. You said it! Not only the politicians and bureaucrats are living off the taxpayers but whole swathes of public parasites are on the dole and many businesses too. I’ve been saying for awhile now that we probably won’t see a balanced budget ever again. There’s just too many people dependent on the taxpayers for their shelter and daily bread.

    l was one of the unlucky ones to show up in hand-me-downs, face like a mule and shy and slightly withdrawn and overwhelmed at start. ie a PERFECT TARGET for at the time the WORST of bullies. aka knocked around for DARING the learn to read words the moment l saw them and getting BORED OUT OF MY MIND WITH THAT DICK AND JANE DRECK.

  13. One of my on line friends in California, her daughter was going through a rough patch being bullied and the school suggested some supportive counselling. Her daughter, a girly girl princess type then announced she’s really a boy and she was put in a trans support group and joined some on line trans groups. She was trying to get her parents to let her take puberty blockers. She’s 12. The social services people were threatening to take the parents to court and take the kid away so she could get her hormone blockers. The family dumped everything and moved to rural Missouri, where the cell phone didn’t work. Within about three months in a new place the whole trans thing vanished. It cost the family a lot but they saved their daughter.

I’m currently going back and forth with my local school district PAC over why they keep hosting speakers who prattle about systemic racism, defunding the police, cultural appropriation and other nonsense. The point I’m making is that they received funds from the BC government that are supposed to go toward students’ extracurricular activities. Instead they’re being funneled to left-wing groups like Moms Against Racism, which are getting over $1000 per Zoom call with just a smattering of parents in attendance.

    These low-IQ activists have wormed their way into positions of power while everyone was too busy working and raising kids. They’re basically parasites.

    He is not left, he is not right, he is where he thinks the vote is. This is regardless of political leanings.
    If you remember the Ontario voters screwed themselves on constant bases since Harris was in charge.
    It went down hill from there and Ford is just helping out.
    It will be interesting to see where this will end.
