Sun- Canada’s economic growth dead last

David Williams, vice-president of policy at the B.C. Business Council, wrote recently that the OECD report predicts Canada’s real GDP growth per capita from 2020-30 will be just 0.7% annually, dead last among the 38 comparable nations of the OECD.

It doesn’t get much better after that, with the OECD pegging Canada’s growth per capita from 2030-60 at 0.8% annually, again last among OECD members.

  1. When “growth” is less,significantly less,than inflation..
    Is it still “growth”?
I wonder how our beloved banks are doing?
Bet you money is still leaving the country and leaving bank accounts.
The unholy alliance of Justine and his dusky sidekick, has ensured nothing will be done about the current State of Lawlessness and Thuggery for at least 3 more years.
    The Trust is gone.
Who is going to invest in a country where failure is guaranteed.
If you make a profit,Justine will take it.

    Funny how a kleptocracy fails.
    The banditry becomes intolerable.
    The producers..stop.
I figure Justine and Jagmeet can destroy all given three more years.

    Barter is beautiful.
    Get used to it.

  2. Near record high commodity prices across the Many sectors Canada has ample stocks of. Wonder where the economic drag is coming from?

    1. War on energy, industrial civilization, resources, and prosperity, massive public debt crowding out private investment. capital being driven away by incompetent and immoral government making the investment climate toxic, bloated bureaucracy not only costing directly but slowing and stopping enterprise through regulatory quagmire, government coerced mal-investments in green and other boondoggles, gang green fighting all industries with a competitive advantage, bloated service sector half destroyed by Covid Stalinism but re-emerging to service the boomers who will be checking out over the next two decades, (economically and morally) bankrupt social programs particularly education and health care, corrupted voting public addicted to free stuff stolen from future taxpayers or monetized into inflation and resulting broad-based wealth destruction, …………… Canada is a classic example of end of democracy due to the electorate’s discovery and preference to vote for loot from the treasury rather than voting for protections against such behavior. All democracies fail at this point and are replaced with despotism. In short, large government leads to small people.

    1. Oh, come on. Don’t you realize that this is the golden age of Canada?

  3. The only solution is 50% “plus “government” dismiss good, bye!

Cut the head off the snake.

  4. I think that estimation will be shown to be optimistic. We are entering a sharp depression because of the slavish adherence to Klaus Schwab’s desire to destroy the world in order to rebuild it to his desire. BTW Klaus the louse is just a puppet. He is not the head of the snake.

  5. Look at cities in the Rust Belt 50 years ago. Detroit, Cincinnati, Akron, Youngstown and even Flint. Decent economies and even decent places where to raise a family. Drive through them today if you dare, that’s what we’ll look like. All to save the planet. The acid rain scare just put fuel under the off-shoring fire. It’s already started here, drive through Niagara Falls, Hamilton or Burlington today. Empty warehouses and factories and more to come.
