Given how badly Justin Trudeau has trampled all over this Act and also the Rights and Freedoms it “guaranteed” to all Canadians, the celebration of this anniversary would be a sick joke. So instead, it’s more appropriate this year to celebrate the 1st Annual Celebration of the Basic Dictatorship that Trudeau openly admires. On April 17th this year, think about wearing a Canadian flag upside down and honking whatever horns are available to you.
One question I had while PET’s shenanigans were going on was why this country even needed to have not just a constitution but a new bill of rights. I was of the opinion that it was yet another Trudeauism.
Peckford was and is just another damn Trudeau liberal. His blather is meaningless and useless.
I thought what he had to say was profound and inspirational. What were you wanting him to say that would have prevented you from criticizing him?
I want him to apologize for his part in the fake constitution. The man is a buffoon and we laud him. Not freaking likely.

Conersation lacked what I was hoping for which was names, but as good an explaination as any.. No Soros or WEF, but the implicaions were clear. Basic rights codified in a constitutional statute don’t protect you any better than common-law rights when the judge doesn’t like what you stand for. February 2022 proved that here. The best protection is, and always will be, a legislature that can unmake the mistakes a previous legislature has made and undo the evils a previous legislature has done.

What people do not realise is the fundamental change that Trudeau foisted upon Canada. Under the BNA Act you were free to do whatever the hell you like to do unless there was a specific, carefully worded, Law that stated otherwise. Judges could only rule on the “Letter of the Law” and if a new or revised statute was required, or deleted, as required, this would be enacted by an elected Parliament. Flexible, specific, and for the ages. But Trudeau convinced Canada that a new “constitution” would be enacted that would be all knowing, all encompassing for now and into eternity guaranteeing everybody`s “rights”. What he did not explain is that these “rights” would be subject to “interpretation” by the politically appointed activist black robed judges. No longer the precise Letter of the Law as written but as “interpreted” to suit the prevailing winds. And it has taken two years to demonstrate the Charter is worthless.
