  1. Good grief. Every time I see that kind of stuff out of Hollywood in the headlines I shrug and keep scanning for something of interest. Then I see it on top of the most read, or trending or whatever, and I think “god, people are shallow”.

  2. I will consider it a staged event, unless Smith is charged with assault.

The Oscars are THAT desperate for a ratings turnaround.

    1. Your comment reminds me of an infamous “wardrobe malfunction” at a Super Bowl a number of years ago. The incident didn’t hurt the careers of those involved, now did it?

This just occurred to me: will Elton John re-record one of his classic songs and re-title it Oscar Night’s All Right for Fighting?

    2. I noted that all of the black female attendees were wearing outfits more reminiscent of a slave auction than of good design. I enjoyed PBS all Sunday evening.

    3. @grok – “I will consider it a staged event”

Yup my thoughts exactly, they are sort of like “actors” anyway. They are also that desperate for ratings.

  3. If this was a stunt (which I think it was) I’m happy to see the Oscars are requiring a creative performance to boost ratings. But how will they keep the “drama” going? Will Chris Rock have to offend Alec Baldwins wife next year?

    *I totally stole that.

  4. I am appalled at the display of racist violence.
    Pardon?
    He was black?
    Oh. Okay.
I’m proud that he stuck up for the woman he cheated on his first wife for. Damn racist joke teller.
    Huh?
The joke teller was black too?
What a biting, insightful peace of satire.
    Sorry?
I mean that was a sad public piece of toxic masculinity?
    Er, um.
But didn’t a black man just achieve a wonderful act of artistic achievement in an overwhelmingly white industry?
Who? The joke teller or the actor?
    Um.
    Was any of them trans-sexual?
Is that good or bad, I can’t tell?
    Ahh…
How about we congratulate the Canadian Men’s National Soccer Team and all the foreigners who play on it and coach it.

  5. Oscar’s pull a “Smollett” on the viewers, and they actually expect the viewers to come back ! ????

    #Oscar’s go ghetto

    1. Nailed it! We’ve allowed the wildings to go wild … whether it’s in a WalMart store or at the Oscars. And btw … Mr. Williams was a racist asshole. And it appears as though Will Smith is too.

Ghetto culture … devolving America rapidly

  6. “You’ve fallen for one of the two classic blunders! The first being never get involved in a land war in Asia but only slightly lesser known: never make fun of a black woman’s hair! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA *dies*”

    Apologies to Will’s Bride.

  7. Best one I’ve seen:

“Good thing Chris Rock didn’t make a joke about Alec Baldwin’s wife.”

  8. It’s Black on Black…so it’s all cool. In fact they gave Smith an Oscar.
I didn’t know Smith had an “open marriage”…open that is except for jokes.

  9. Black on black violence. Just another ordinary day of diversity in action in a blue state.

  10. Staged…even the angry words that followed and were edited out, all part of the plan.

  11. Why hasn’t SDA put up a banner on the web page declaring their support?

    I stand with Chris.

  12. Staged – Fake – Phoney

When Pedowood is in trouble this is the type of stunt it reverts to.

  13. Personally, I can’t stand either Will Smith or Chris Rock. And, if I’m still around in a year’s time, I won’t watch the Oscars.

  14. So shortly after supposedly committing assault and F-bombing twice on live national TV, they give him an award. No consequences. No police. Party on.

    Yeah, not believing it.

  15. This brings up a good topic: who gets to define humor anymore. Only woke feminist women? Better define ‘woman’ first.

  16. #OscarsSoBlack – so Black, in fact, they included a real-time assault! I don’t make the stereotypes…….!

  17. I wondered when these shitty awards shows with their abysmal ratings would resort to Jerry Springer style altercations to remain relevant.

    1. Springer’s show was, of course, a parody. Then again, maybe the Oscars are one now, too.

  18. I think the Russo-Ukraine War will fall off in the news, not because of Will Smith B!tch Slapping Chris Rock, but because of videos of war crimes like the Ukrainian Soldiers shooting Russian POWs in the leg, and apparently leaving them to bleed out and die.

I heard about the videos, but I did not believe there were actual videos until I saw them last night. There are videos, and they are bad.

  19. Now that the Oskers are diversified maybe Trudeau has a chance of picking one up for his portrayal of first black PM in a basic dictatorship.

    1. ” first black PM’ (of Canada)

You might be on to something there. When the Media comes to attack you, and calls you racist for calling Trudeau, Canada’s first black PM,,, you could ask the Media,,,
what’s worst, me calling the Turd the FBPM, or Trudeau actually wearing blackface.
(Too bad the MEP’s that dissed Trudeau last week, didn’t bring up his blackface, and expose it more, as I think many still don’t know, as the Media has done it’s best to hide it away)

  20. The Prince tried to freshen up the Oscar air, but hit rock bottom.
Once you go black, you can never come back.

  21. I don’t know about the rest of you but that slap was fake as a Penthouse Forums letter. There will be no picture of the physical contact. Completely scripted. Hollyweird has no shame.

    1. WHAT!!! Those Penthouse forum letters were fake? Damn, is nothing real anymore?

  22. C’mon Kate, I want to vote again like I try to in all of the other poles.
    Pleeeeeze??

  23. I’m old enough to remember Will I Am punching Perez Hilton at some other “distinguished” Canadian award ceremony.

  24. “The world is a stage; the stage is a world of entertainment!
It might be a fight like you see on the screen
A swain getting slain for the love of a queen
    Some great Shakespearean scene
Where a ghost and a prince meet, and everyone ends in mincemeat.
The guy who was waving the flag
That began with the mystical hand
    Hip hooray! The American way
The world is a stage; the stage is a world of entertainment!”

And remember kids, Oscar has alopecia.

  25. It is pointless (or dishonest) defending the honour of a female who, by her own actions, has none…

Perhaps the next comperes of the Tosscars should be drawn from World Wide Wrestling! At least then we’d be assured the whole thing is faked…!!!
