Rasputin 2.0

Alexander Dugin is said to be “Putin’s brain” and his “fourth political theory” is a relatively new ideology driving much of what Putin and Russia are doing and thinking. Grab a beverage.

Looks like a really deep rabbit hole.

  1. Kremlinology is utterly discredited and in fact has always come down on the side of accommodation of whichever dictator was in the Kremlin – the left are suckers for psychological profiles of them ( which always dealt in such inanities as: Gorbachev wore New Balance running shoes! )

The only important thing to understand about the Russians is that they are a major threat, and the west should maintain an overwhelming arms advantage, ( including the most sophisticated nuclear weapons ).

    1. ^ Exactly right. And West should continue sanctions and destabilizing russia, until russians start hunting each other for food.

  2. I took Slavic Studies and Russian history in University; though I wasn’t in the military intelligence branch when I was in the Army, there were numerous ‘intelligence ‘ classes I had to take; plus other self-study as part of professional development. The biggest, and simplest lesson from all, combined, was: never, never, never, NEVER trust the Russians .

    1. ^ Bravo!

I grew up behind the Iron Curtain. One fact of life was that russians always turned everything into shit. They are king Midas of shit, want to remain King Midas of shit, and never take any responsibility for the devastation they cause.

        1. He’s a dumb Polack who can’t see straight because Poland never was a real country. See, Polacks are too damn dumb to keep the Russians, Germans and Lithuanians from kicking their fat kielbasa asses, and the lower intestine known as Colonialista is a perfect specimen.

          1. Easy there, Canada. Remember it was Polish cavalry led by the magnificent Polish King, Jan III Sobieski, who crushed the Ottomans on September 12, 1683 outside the walls of Vienna, and ending the 300 years of threat from Ottoman invasion of Europe.

(You can see why the Sept 11 terrorists chose that date, the last date on which a Muslim conquest of Christianity was still plausible, and the Muslims had not yet received their hard Polish a$$-kicking.

        2. You need but to ask. I have stated that on many occasions. There is a reason you see Polish flags on every Freedom protest and thee is a reason why those of Polish background oppose Pootin. It is the same reason: Freedom baby!

      1. well COLON, my little business was just around the corner from the Polack consulate , and there are many stupid Pohlacks , just like you are, then again there are many good ones also. Too bad you ain’t one of them. And near here there is a Russian enclave, real a lot of very stupid Ukes.
You should take your biASS and shove it.

    2. +++ Rmgk

Way back in the early ’70s, I knew a Czech who had escaped his country, bringing his wife and daughter with him. He was the head (manager?) of a steel spring manufacturing plant back in the old country. I’ve never forgotten his admonition, “Never, never trust the Russians.” He knew from personal experience, and I took his words to heart.

  3. Aleksandr Dugin, whatever the objective merits of his thought, is a marginal figure whose importance has been blown out of proportion by Western journalists. He was fired from his teaching job at Moscow State University some years ago for calling for the execution of Ukrainian Nazis. By all reliable accounts, his influence in the Kremlin is nil.

What is unclear is whether the Dugin hype is part of a disinformation campaign or simply reflects the ignorance of our moral and intellectual superiors. Unable to comprehend that a nation’s leader might genuinely be interested in pursuing the interests of his people—or consider them worth pursuing—they prefer the fantasy that Vladimir Putin is under the influence of some evil genius.

  4. I read The Fourth Political Theory.

It was a slog. Maybe it’s the translation or maybe I’m not smart enough.

His ultimate society appears to be some kind of Lord of the Rings fantasy in which a Philosopher King is the ruler, surrounded by intellectuals. The next hierarchy down is warriors. The rest of us live as serfs making our own clothes and purposefully not advancing technologically.

  5. Nice recycled Cold War thread. Deep thinkers. Who are the moral and intellectual superiors?
    How tiring.
All feudal all the time, with interspersed propaganda, forever.
Same as it ever was, despite the squirrelly distractions and the credit cards.
The guys in the yachts laugh and spill more scotch than most of us can afford.
Don’t forget to register to vote, citizen.

    1. They forgot to hate the Japanese and Germans all over again, wonder where are the calls to nuke Germany & Japan went since their WW2 atrocities (?)

Funny there are no calls here to kill all Kruts & Nips as dogs & pigs for what they did to humanity 75 years ago.

  6. Watch Stopadouchebag on YouTube while you still can.
It’s a group who video themselves trying to stop their fellow Russians from driving on sidewalks.
Gives you an insight of Russian thinking.

    1. Just run a net search on “Stalin popularity in russia poll”

Survey after survey shows the same thing.

      https://news.yahoo.com/stalin-tops-putin-russian-poll-greatest-historical-figures-110751986.html

They love him. They worship him. The man who murdered more russians than anyone else in history is worshiped by russans as the greatest russian (even though he technically wasn’t russian). Let that sink in.

      Why?

Because a russian animal will tolerate any abuse, any cruelty, any humiliation as long as the tyrants will allow them to rape, murder and pillage. They got it under Stalin and they loved him for it. Same reason they love Pootin. They live for this shit. They don’t live for prosperity. They don’t live freedom. They live to rape, pillage, destroy and make the world russia.

Tell me how this isn’t a Mongol mindset? Mongols made them like that. They have never reverted back.

Russian leader: “What is best in life?”
Russian: “To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.”

  7. I put this in another thread maybe it’s appropriate here too. Expansionism driven by religious fervor and a willingness to kill and lay waste (like the Indian Wars) is nothing new:
Religion and politics have often mixed. I don’t see the Russian Orthodox Church being erased. Maybe the opposite.
Just for fun do a search on “Manifest Destiny”.
“Manifest Destiny, a phrase coined in 1845, is the idea that the United States is destined—by God, its advocates believed—to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent.Nov 15, 2019”

    1. IIRC

Scotland, “Old Light Presbyterians”, “The Covenant and No Quarter”

  8. The idea that Russia is invading Ukraine based on their ideology seems wrong. I would be happier believing that Russia invaded Ukraine because of American ideology in the region.

  9. Our leaders are trying to make us live in clown world. They look us in the eye and tell us up is down and down is up. They know they’re lying. We know they’re lying. They know that we know they’re lying. Yet everyone needs to shut up and accept it. As I see it, the Russians have their own struggle. Dugan makes some very good points about the West and liberalism but having Putin as your front man, may not be the best way to go about opposing it. Anyway, something’s got to give.

  10. Millerman seemed incredulous at the stupidity of some of the Questions from Steve Paikin — towards the end especially. So was I…
    Would your parents move back….???
    Duh!

    1. Millerman was most impressive. He was mostly explaining … not justifying or choosing sides … despite the unfortunate inquisitor, err “Journalist’s” questioning. And what has become of our Western Age of Enlightenment and scientific determinism? The FAKE science of global warming is threatening every underpinning of our society. The strategic use of biological science to manufacture a deadly virus that has murdered millions. The FAKE science of COVID protocols crashed the West’s economy and destroyed millions of peoples livelihoods. The FAKE science of the Tonapah solar salt tower that now sits idle after $B’s invested. The FAKE science of “New Economic Theory” which claims the government can print unlimited amounts of money which has no impact on inflation. And the FAKE science of Trans-mutilation of biological sex. I’d say the West has moved farrrrrr past the Age of Enlightenment… into the Age of scientific delusion. I’d say the West has a lot to answer for as we’ve become “rational” deniers of God’s existence.

Perhaps Millerman is correct … Dugin is correct … that there is MORE to human life than worshiping the false idolatry of “science”. “Science” … used to deceive and destroy … is running rampant in our society … and the population too poorly educated in science to know the difference between TRUE science and FAKE science. False gods of FAKE science are being manufactured at a frightening clip … false idol after false idol are being churned out and the people are made to bow before them. Yes … it will be our “rational” undoing.

God equipped us with rational minds and intelligence … but also with a heart and soul. We need to listen more to our hearts and souls as we SHOULD be carefully reasoning about the “science” we are sold.
