  1. It was ALWAYS all about the teacher.
    Keep the kids at home so WE don’t get sick. Kinda like when they are on strike for more money but its all about THE KIDS.

  3. Teachers live in their own universe. They stopped learning anything anything
    about life outside their cloistered milieu since entering the vocation.
    They consider themselves intellectuals just because they graduated from Uni or teachers college. In truth they are some of the stupidest people on the planet.

    1. It’s been that way for well over 30 years. In the mid-1980s, my social circle included a number of schoolteachers. I mentioned that I read 3 newspapers each day. None of them did and they seemed to be proud of it.

      Then again, to them, the most important thing about being a teacher was having a job from which they couldn’t be fired and having two months off during the summer so that they could travel.

      And, no, many university professors, including ones that I took courses from, weren’t much better.

      1. I wouldn’t regard the Toronto Star or New York Times as real newspapers.

        1. I read the Calgary Herald and the Mop and Pail (as Alan Fotheringham once nicknamed it), back when they were still readable and actually presented news. I also read the Calgary Sun, though that was when the Sunshine Girls were still on Page 3. (OK, so I read 2-1/2 newspapers every day…..)

          In addition, I also had a subscription to The Financial Post when it was still a weekly broadsheet.

        2. Back in the day OK we actually had “newspapers” that told the truth and disseminated actual information. The Globe and mail used to publish the money supply stats on a weekly basis. Try and find that in a newspaper these days. As BA says, I too used to read 3 a day, sometimes more.

  4. If you haven’t figured out that public schools and public health are absolute f***ing garbage in the last two years, I’m removing your right to vote. Sit down and f*** off.

  5. Unfortunately, teachers in general decided that they would teach the same way as they teach in school, which doesn’t work in a remote environment with many distractions.

    It also doesn’t help that most of the curriculum is terrible versions of experiential learning that jumps from topic to topic rather than building a base and then building up.

    1. Some are paid baby-sitters and they have little problem with that.

      Some shudder to think how intellectually and emotionally retarded these kids will become.

  6. Sit in front of a screen for two hours up-at-the-cottage and banking millions.
    Fire them.

  7. My wife teaches 1st grade … and fully HALF of her last years class were advised to repeat 1st grade. Trust me … not for lack of her effort, because she works 10-12 hrs/day … but kids behind screens … with mommy doing the actual work for their kids … doesn’t cut it.

  8. I have had students who could not breathe and students who could not understand what I said.

    There are children who know only masks and cannot emote or speak properly.

    We need portable gallows.

    1. And I would be happy to pull the trap doors open. My wife’s 1st graders are STILL in masks … even outside on the playground. For at least another month … be cause ?? … her UNION insists they won’t be “safe” till then. But on that magic date … the “all clear” will sound
