    2. Ukraine made a devil’s bargain to give up being a nuclear power in exchange for US (NATO?) support in event of attack. The questions isn’t whether Putin is pure as the wind driven snow, it’s about whether international agreements have any meaning to a democracy when the ruling government changes hands every 4 or 8 years.

      Trump would probably tell Putin “for every 15 Mtonnes of bombs you drop on Ukraine, we will send one 10Mtonne missle at a target inside Russian”. I don’t think Putin would be as willing to invade if he knew that the US were good for their word.

    2. It seems to me there is really only one avid supporter of Putin and Russia. Most of the rest are at least sympathetic to the Ukrainians as there country is invaded and destroyed. But it is clear that the truth is never evident and both sides play the propaganda game.
      As usual, we will need to wait until the historians have a chance to dissect the evidence before we will know what really transpired.
