I was at boarding school in Ireland with a kid from Canada. He always struck me as very decent and levelheaded.
We used to meet after school at Shannon. He on his way to somewhere Canadian, me on my way to Boston.
Lived in Seattle while in the US Navy. Travelled to Vancouver lots of times, camped in great outdoors in Kamloops. Canadians we met more kind then most peoples. Some got their view from like this

Let me give a nod to your recognition of P.J. O’Rourke. I loved his satire, and concure that he was fearless. He pulled no punches, he ran with a lot of rope.
