I am not condoning some of the actions I’ve seen by police and I do support the truckers but I also see that for the most part, police have left them alone to protest. Which is what I would expect from a peaceful protest. The truckers have been respectful and that really helps. I can’t say the same for many other recent protests.

I attend one of these protests in a peaceful fashion. Someone in “kit” comes up to me and asks me to disperse. They are not wearing a name tag, a badge number, nothing visible to identify them as law enforcement except said kit, which can probably be purchased on eBay. I ask for their name and/or badge number, they refuse.
If they cannot be identified as law enforcement and they refuse to present identification as such, under what obligation am I to do anything they request?

You have had bad experiences with cops. Fair enough. I wasn’t there so I won’t comment on them. You appear hostile to police in general. You have made several comments indicating you know better than police. That’s great, we are hiring. As far as some of the stuff I’ve seen coming out of Ottawa. I am unaware of what Act the Ottawa Police were using to seize fuel. I tried to find one but couldn’t. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one but I don’t know what it is and that concerns me. I would want to know my authority prior to following those orders. It looks like possibly something that was done to appease the mayor who looks to be losing his mind but I have no knowledge of this. I suspect this fuel will be returned. Just as I have had to return bongs after the new cannabis laws came out. 2nd; I have arrested the wrong person before based on poor intell received prior to attending a scene. We do make mistakes. The cuffs were removed and they were free to go. An arrest is not a charge. I have been convinced by the arrestee during the investigation that they were innocent and believed them. An arrest settles things down so police can do an investigation. In these cases, the investigation took less then 2 minutes. If a mistaken arrest is made, calm down and explain your side to the officer. We do listen. Depending on the situation it may take some time and the officer may need to get away from the actual scene so he can think. Believe it or not, having people screaming, yelling and/or struggling with you does affect your cognitive ability. Police know there are bad actors in many protests and have to retain situational awareness in all circumstances. 3rd; I am not here to apologize for mistakes made by anyone but myself. I am ultimately responsible for how I conduct myself on the job. The mistakes made by police that came before me are not mine to apologize for. Though they are an embarrassment and we cheer when corrupt cops face the consequences. Who do you think does those investigations?

That is a valid question.
Personally i believe that police have much better ways to spend their time then that video I saw which in its context, irritated me. Maybe that officer was on light duties or something and her boss was trying to find something for her to do but either way, it’s a waste of resources in my opinion. Obviously the OPP has more time on their hands than I do.
That being said, I believe should be keeping tabs on harmful groups that mean harm to this country. I am not of the opinion the truckers and their supporters fall under that category though. However, monitoring them is no crime. Sometimes clearing someone’s name as a suspect is every bit as important as finding the perpetrator. The truth is what is important.

Cops hate being questioned. As such, you completely & entirely ignored the question I posed to you, after you offered to help. Frankly, I have no idea what your response had to do with anything I was talking about.
Second, my so-called, “hostility”, comes from a lifetime of observation & a number of personal experiences. When I was a teenager I largely got along with my local small town RCMP detachment. I occasionally got into trouble. I paid my tickets. There were a couple assholes, as there always are, but it was those assholes that planted the seed of doubt & now I have this large tree to tend.
Third, you attempt, weakly I may add, to make this about me in your offer to hire. Try harder. ‘Sides, it’s not in me to be a cop. I’ve noted just a few of my issues with law enforcement and, while I understand that doesn’t represent all cops, I don’t want to be associated with those it does.
Fourth, while an arrest may not be a charge, when I cross the 49th there is one question that comes up real regular like: “Have you ever been arrested?” “Yeah, 27 times by well-meaning cops who were just straightening out their ‘cognitive ability’. BUT, I never had charges laid!” That outta go over like a lead balloon whilst sitting in customs.
Which segues nicely into my point five: You’ve gone & shown your hand. If, in fact, you are a cop, you are most definitely one of the power-mad ones.

Sixth. “Who do you think does those investigations?” Sometimes I wonder. From what I understand, it’s usually the police investigating themselves. No conflict of interest there. Cops rarely charges cops. It’s gotta be very egregious before it’s even considered. It’s certainly not an impartial 3rd party. If it was, there would be jail terms. In the first 3 examples above, little to nothing happened to the police involved. In the next 3, definitely nothing. Why? Because it’s a he said/she said scenario with a complete absence of evidence. Who is going to file charges & prosecute sans evidence? Nobody.
Seventh, as a prime example of cops not charging cops, another story. I’ll cut to the chase: Thanksgiving day, 1987. We found hunters trespassing on our land while rounding up the cattle for the season. They’d shot a deer there. Called the RCMP, they showed up, questioned the trespassers, found out they were police from Canmore, all discussion of charges went right out the window. Nothing ever happened to them, sans the tongue-lashing they got from me.
Tell me, just how much injustice does one have to experience, hear or read about before it’s considered acceptable to be “hostile” to cops? This isn’t my problem. If, in fact, you are actually a cop, this is most assuredly your problem. And how you conduct yourselves in this vast, very public theater currently playing across Canada will form future public opinion of law enforcement, much as my past has formed mine.

One of the protesters walked the line of police getting video of their faces. All I saw was shame in their eyes. Part of their soul has been removed and they will NEVER be able to have pride in themselves again. Which is what I would expect from a peaceful protest. The truckers have been respectful and that really helps. I can’t say the same for many other recent protests.

I attend one of these protests in a peaceful fashion. Someone in “kit” comes up to me and asks me to disperse. They are not wearing a name tag, a badge number, nothing visible to identify them as law enforcement except said kit, which can probably be purchased on eBay. I ask for their name and/or badge number, they refuse.
If they cannot be identified as law enforcement and they refuse to present identification as such, under what obligation am I to do anything they request?

You have had bad experiences with cops. Fair enough. I wasn’t there so I won’t comment on them. You appear hostile to police in general. You have made several comments indicating you know better than police. That’s great, we are hiring. As far as some of the stuff I’ve seen coming out of Ottawa. I am unaware of what Act the Ottawa Police were using to seize fuel. I tried to find one but couldn’t. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one but I don’t know what it is and that concerns me. I would want to know my authority prior to following those orders. It looks like possibly something that was done to appease the mayor who looks to be losing his mind but I have no knowledge of this. I suspect this fuel will be returned. Just as I have had to return bongs after the new cannabis laws came out. 2nd; I have arrested the wrong person before based on poor intell received prior to attending a scene. We do make mistakes. The cuffs were removed and they were free to go. An arrest is not a charge. I have been convinced by the arrestee during the investigation that they were innocent and believed them. An arrest settles things down so police can do an investigation. In these cases, the investigation took less then 2 minutes. If a mistaken arrest is made, calm down and explain your side to the officer. We do listen. Depending on the situation it may take some time and the officer may need to get away from the actual scene so he can think. Believe it or not, having people screaming, yelling and/or struggling with you does affect your cognitive ability. Police know there are bad actors in many protests and have to retain situational awareness in all circumstances. 3rd; I am not here to apologize for mistakes made by anyone but myself. I am ultimately responsible for how I conduct myself on the job. The mistakes made by police that came before me are not mine to apologize for. Though they are an embarrassment and we cheer when corrupt cops face the consequences. Who do you think does those investigations?

That is a valid question.
Personally i believe that police have much better ways to spend their time then that video I saw which in its context, irritated me. Maybe that officer was on light duties or something and her boss was trying to find something for her to do but either way, it’s a waste of resources in my opinion. Obviously the OPP has more time on their hands than I do.
That being said, I believe should be keeping tabs on harmful groups that mean harm to this country. I am not of the opinion the truckers and their supporters fall under that category though. However, monitoring them is no crime. Sometimes clearing someone’s name as a suspect is every bit as important as finding the perpetrator. The truth is what is important.

Cops hate being questioned. As such, you completely & entirely ignored the question I posed to you, after you offered to help. Frankly, I have no idea what your response had to do with anything I was talking about.
Second, my so-called, “hostility”, comes from a lifetime of observation & a number of personal experiences. When I was a teenager I largely got along with my local small town RCMP detachment. I occasionally got into trouble. I paid my tickets. There were a couple assholes, as there always are, but it was those assholes that planted the seed of doubt & now I have this large tree to tend.
Third, you attempt, weakly I may add, to make this about me in your offer to hire. Try harder. ‘Sides, it’s not in me to be a cop. I’ve noted just a few of my issues with law enforcement and, while I understand that doesn’t represent all cops, I don’t want to be associated with those it does.
Fourth, while an arrest may not be a charge, when I cross the 49th there is one question that comes up real regular like: “Have you ever been arrested?” “Yeah, 27 times by well-meaning cops who were just straightening out their ‘cognitive ability’. BUT, I never had charges laid!” That outta go over like a lead balloon whilst sitting in customs.
Which segues nicely into my point five: You’ve gone & shown your hand. If, in fact, you are a cop, you are most definitely one of the power-mad ones.

Sixth. “Who do you think does those investigations?” Sometimes I wonder. From what I understand, it’s usually the police investigating themselves. No conflict of interest there. Cops rarely charges cops. It’s gotta be very egregious before it’s even considered. It’s certainly not an impartial 3rd party. If it was, there would be jail terms. In the first 3 examples above, little to nothing happened to the police involved. In the next 3, definitely nothing. Why? Because it’s a he said/she said scenario with a complete absence of evidence. Who is going to file charges & prosecute sans evidence? Nobody.
Seventh, as a prime example of cops not charging cops, another story. I’ll cut to the chase: Thanksgiving day, 1987. We found hunters trespassing on our land while rounding up the cattle for the season. They’d shot a deer there. Called the RCMP, they showed up, questioned the trespassers, found out they were police from Canmore, all discussion of charges went right out the window. Nothing ever happened to them, sans the tongue-lashing they got from me.
Tell me, just how much injustice does one have to experience, hear or read about before it’s considered acceptable to be “hostile” to cops? This isn’t my problem. If, in fact, you are actually a cop, this is most assuredly your problem. And how you conduct yourselves in this vast, very public theater currently playing across Canada will form future public opinion of law enforcement, much as my past has formed mine.

I always used to think cops always had to have their badge numbers visible??? Is this not the case?? I guess if your badge is not visible and they won’t tell you what it is, they can get away with whatever they want in situations like this.

This is quite some answer from a supposed police officer,justifying the hiding of its official and lawfully required identification.
My instinctive reaction has to be “So you passed the IQ test”?.
Impersonating a police officer is a very serious crime.

One of the protesters walked the line of police getting video of their faces. All I saw was shame in their eyes. Part of their soul has been removed and they will NEVER be able to have pride in themselves again. I can’t even imagine how you would ever explain to your children or grand-children that you helped a Trudeau terrorize Canadians.
The cop pushing along the commie for global news had a different look in his eyes than those cops in the lineup, he was enjoying the power, relishing his dominance over someone else.
Either way, they are all dangerous to freedom. Whether they obey tyrannical orders out of fear or pleasure makes no difference.
(In the above instance I am speaking of the police, but this also applies to the media or anyone else that propagandizes for the elites) I don’t think it is possible to overstate the importance of cutting ALL government funding to the media by whoever wins the next election. The fall of government propaganda organizations is underway by their own lies, but they must all be defunded.
