      Then again, these are the same geniuses who managed our pandemic stores and when we needed them we found rather than the 3 months we were supposed to have we only had 3 weeks and much of it was expired.

    3. Does anybody know, or can anyone explain what legal justification Premier Ford had to effect a freeze of the funds? One would imagine that there would have to be some kind of evidence to suggest criminal activity in relation to the funds.

      Other than some rather large contributions coming from outside the country, I can’t find any such justification. I don’t see any evidence of a crime anywhere. Exactly how is Ford allowed to do this? I wish someone with some expertise in this area would explain.

It seems that this asset freezing was done “ex parte” meaning that the targeted party does not have to be in the court to challenge whatever charges the prosecution has up it’s sleeve, and the whole affair is done secretly. The “accused” will have their day in court, where, I suspect, all this will be overturned.

    4. Vote separatist, PPC, Libertarian. Votes matter and it’s important that we all stop handing power back to these tyrants in the CPC/Lib/NDP party. Bottom line is that government needs to be shrunk and their power over us needs to be severely constrained. Vote for people that at least promise to move us in that direction. (whether they actually will once in power is another question)

  37. If memory serves, the new funding entity is in the USA. The funding totals are in US dollars. If that is correct, an Ontario judge would have no jurisdiction over the US entity. (They may be able to go down to the USA and try their luck at getting a US judge to issue some kind of order, but in the abscense of that, a US court would likely just laugh.

  40. Freezing those funds just makes me heart sick. That is one way people are expressing support for the truckers — and they gave a LOT of support. Totally unacceptable. The Ontario Conservatives should abandon their support for Ford, just as he has abandoned support for his supporters and the rule of law.

  43. I thought GiveSendGo released the funds directly to the campaign, not holding them for disbursement like GoDefundMe did. So are the funds in a bank account somewhere?
