That Poll Doesn’t Say What You Think it Says

Side note:  A few posts below I put up a twitter poll that some have taken issue with. I understand the desire to starve the beast but sometimes you have to work with the tools you’ve got not the ones you’d like to have. Whenever possible I try to do what I’ve done here in this post. It’s a screenshot with a link back to the original twitter post so it can be verified as legit. You can get the information without giving twitter the clicks. It doesn’t always work out that way but it is one of the goals here.

  1. Assuming the Conservative numbers are accurate, I would love to have a conversation with a Canadian who identifies as a “conservative” but doesn’t feel they have much in common with the people protesting. The 46% number makes no sense to me whatsoever.

    1. I think they are just selfish and self centered, don’t want to be late for work or inconvenienced. Like one of the convoy organizers said this morning, we could use your support, every day, not just when it’s convenient. I found after door knocking and volunteering for the past Federal election in particular, there are a lot of Conservatives of Convenience. They might vote for you if they have time but don’t expect anything else. And if they say they will volunteer, take a sign or contribute; they likely didn’t mean it. Unless there is something they are fired up about.

I’m not calling you any number of things that the trolls deserve, repeatedly. Nor adjectives that I save for the leftists when they deserve special treatment.
    We agree to disagree.
If you use Twitter fine. Somebody has to monitor that dysfunctional world. Same goes for anything CBC, CNN, etc
Won’t be me, no clicks for them, no views, no channel watching, which gets tracked by TPTB through their digital broadcast systems.
Starving the beasts, is the easiest way to fight back.
Look at FBs face plant. Twitter’s stock value has also plummeted. It’s business model is broken.
    Makes me happy.

    1. Yep. Heard James Cummings (?) on the radio this morning about their report on the election loss. He said basically, after losing the last 3 elections, when do you start looking at what you are doing wrong. And that to me is still on O’Tool. He was warned about repeating the same mistakes. Beating a no brainer like Blackie should have been a…no brainer.

  3. Even Ottawa is bigger than is sometimes appreciated on SDA.

The people whinging are the parasites. The snobs can afford to live in New Edinburgh (near Rideau Hall) or in Sandy Hill or Centretown with the diplomats. The riffraff live in the slums of Lowertown east of Sussex Drive, or in “Vanier” (once the proud suburb of Eastview, now a Trudeaupian-infested hole).

The people who pay all the taxes and do all the actual work live in suburbs like Nepean, Kanata and Orleans, and in pre-amalgamation Carleton County.

They seldom go downtown willingly, unless they have a job assignment there. Their showing up to support the truckers was a rare exception.

They are sick of subsidizing poverty and crime in the slums of Lowertown and Vanier.

They are sick of paying for an “eco-friendly” light rail system that they didn’t need or want, that has never performed as promised, and that only succeeded in lining the pockets of contractors with Librano connections.

Meanwhile, instead of the modern expressway linking the 417 to Hull that motorists (including truckers) have demanded for decades, they have to crawl along King Edward at 40kph at rush hour because there’s no money for the road and no political will for slum clearance.

And they still resent the amalgamation that allowed downtown to rob them blind.

They hate Jimbo “The Fairy” Watson. They hate the downtown parasites.

    And they support the truckers.

    1. Can confirm. Haven’t set foot in downtown Ottawa in almost six years even though I live a mere 10km from ground zero. Not worth it.

  4. Seems somewhat ironic that only 23% of NDP voters agree with the truckers. I thought NDP was supposed to be the party of the working class? Still, people I’ve talked to who detest the Turdeau family like a native elder patient who spent considerable time explaining the elder Turdeau’s involvement with residential schools, but votes NDP. PPC voters seem to be most aware. Seems that to win elections, one needs smart totally objective people on ones team to calculate how to win based on peculiarities of regional voting and seats/province. That’s why lieberals keep winning despite having less votes than the party they beat.

Would like to see number of people for each category to get an idea of expected error in this poll, but from people that I know who are PPC members or have run as PPC candidate, they’re very Libertarian in their views.

      1. Yes, it’s been a very interesting 8 years or so since I’ve had time to frequent SDA much (mainly lurking on ZH) and not having time to do much writing/posting. Began researching scamdemic in March 2020 and was surprised that doctors I had worked with for years just couldn’t see the obvious NWO attempt at creating a global dictatorship using quarentine acts that I had long worried would be a means of creating a dictatorship by having a “pandemic”. Ended up leaving for a very small town in NW BC, live in country, working on being totally self suffient if we need to be and doctors here very aware of BS going on. Convinced other people we know to move here also and have great neighbors who are very aware of what’s going on. Have no intention of getting mRNA vax, found out recently that have inate immunity (got SARS-2 December 2019) and if can’t work because I refuse to get mRNA vax, won’t have anything to lose if come out as myself rather than Loki or various pseudonyms I post under.

    1. The Liberals and Dippers are the party of elites: big business, big labour and big government enabled by media and arts sycophants.
The rest of us, the 1/3 that carry all the load, take all the risks and do all the work forced to support the 2/3 of the state and her clients.

That would not be the poor, whom the “progressives” ditched long ago, presumably because they don’t promote their power.

The apparatchiks get to enjoy life, dictate to the rest of us from their maskless hypocritical barricades, and have “nice dinners.”

Some day a true leader may step up and say the big three are on their own, no more bailouts, increased revenues or taxpayer funded activists who exist only to perpetuate themselves by parasitically feeding off the working people of this nation. That must end forever.

      1. Quite right. The NDP ceased long ago to have any value for working Canadians. They represent only the “woke” and other such fantasies. They scoop up lots of support and funding from the big public sector unions and most of the larger trade unions. This drift has been going on for years, starting as it did under Eddie Broadbent, (one of the most disgusting troughers you could ever imagine). But it’s accelerated under Jagmeet. It’s not clear to me who or what the NDP represents now as a definable group except the “woke”.

  5. Canadians can be on all sides of every argument at all times. It’s what makes our society function so well. s/
