      That being said, one duty of the “office” that has to be “respected” is sacrificing principles for reasons of political expediency. You often gripe about how stupid people are, well, the majority of people posting on this site have no issues with sacrificing principles for reasons of political expediency, and indeed some will defend their willingness to do so quite vehemently, spouting their bullshit “lesser of two evils” arguments.
      The fact that that sort of behavior is what led to the current shitshow is lost on them.
