Quebec to give $12,000 to $18,000 bonuses to nurses in public system

Calling it a “small revolution” to combat Quebec’s chronic nursing shortage, Premier François Legault announced Thursday the government will give $12,000 to $18,000 in bonuses to nurses who are either working full time in the public system or who shift to full-time work.

  1. Shows the corruption of other people in charge of our finances as they don’t care about the debt they’re creating as they add it to our taxes.
No responsibility for the decisions that they create.

  2. Unions use economics only when it suits them, for instance to reduce the supply of healthcare workers, for higher wages.
What we’re seeing here, except the individual worker is not part of the program, as per socialism, so unprotected by them.
No jab no pay also applies to QC, btw, so no relief there for the neo leper anti-vaxxers, infinitesimally small probability killers.
I wonder, are all legislators in Canada and the USA fully vaccinated? If not then like QC, they should go off pay on October 15th.
Btw, should these collectivist charlatans back themselves and us into lockdowns, all jurisdiction parliamentarians go off pay.
We need to introduce consistency and integrity into the system, so we can be assured these measures are absolute necessary.
Except if you work from home? Nope, not everybody can. No pay. Holes in the system? Fix them instead of scapegoating.
But like unions, we don’t turn out to elections and turf the moribund morons who consistently manage to be precisely wrong.
So unions get leadership that fires members and gives the survivors more dough. So politicians blame others and get rewarded.
Less than 20% of eligible voters went for the Liberals and elected our PM, thanks to a 10% reduction in turnout; pale anger.

  3. It’s not a juxtapose as the bonus is for vaccinated staff…suspension is for unvaccinated.

However, I would never want a vaccinated (or just generally healthy) person treated my me or my loved one… it makes no sense.

    1. The “vaccine” doesn’t stop you from getting the Wu Flu, it just reduces the symptoms. I’m not making this up, this is what the authorities say. By reducing the symptoms, you get sick but don’t know it and you become a super spreader. People who have been vaccinated are dangerous to be around.

      1. Vaxxed or unvaxxed makes no difference, both categories can transmit and become infected. They should be testing everyone all the time if they are serious about stopping spread.

  4. Sounds like prime time for a class action lawsuit for contract violations. You can’t unilaterally change the terms of an existing agreement without both sides consenting to the terms (Law 101).

    1. did you learn that in law school? no

did you read their collective agreement? no

does their union agree with this? yes

do civil liberty groups agree? yes

      do the courts agree? yes

      1. Bob, no I haven’t read their collective agreement. I would speculate that fiat vaccination mandates were not conceived or discussed. I I did take a single class in my Engineering degree about contract law and tort (got a really good mark) and the general principle holds (as I have argued in court on my own behalf). If there is no clause specifying that the management can mandate another vaccination without discussion, then the contract cannot be changed, regardless of the wish of either the union or the management. The union holds vicarious responsibility to the wishes of the membership and cannot unilaterally change an agreement without the blessings of the membership. And a contract cannot be changed to include an illegal action (like violating civil rights, for example) without the contract becoming null and void. And yes, that was all discussed in Law 101.

If there is a contract lawyer in the crowd, feel free to correct my understanding.

      2. I’m sure their collective agreement protects them from dismissal without just cause. Science has no significant data for it.
Good luck with the imminent risk ploy. At worst that would be some, not all, unvaccinated, who had made that choice.
Risks range from one in a thousand to one in a billion. Collectivists see crimes against unidentified people, by persons.
PPE and distancing easily mitigate. The citizen in me sees the argument, but the libertarian knows it’s beyond the pale.
Like people who decide to smoke, or not exercise, or work too many stressful hours. The vaccinated cannot be harmed.
Who are they harming and how? Believing they should be vaccinated, an arguable opinion, yes or no, is beside the point.
Show us the unvaccinated and we’ll show you the crime. Until they find out it’s blacks, Hispanics, women and PhDs. LOL.
Move the goalposts again to cases only, nothing else. For power, politicians pretend to be good when they’re its enemy.

  5. Well I did not learn that in my engineering school either but I did read their collect agreement as it is also mine because I am in the same union… courts and civil liberties have also sent their opinions on this… SOL

      1. DR. It is a TROLL. It is here to oppose, argue, dispute and distract, for any reason at any time.

Ignore it, it will return to its bridge and goat, xim/xer/xit isnt worth the time

        1. Thanks DanBC,
My personal policy is to just not engage any troll once they have outed themselves, period!
It just isn’t worth the effort.

      2. Don’t bother projecting your lack of credibility. Deal in facts, not slurs. Perhaps you’re a doctor and we are your patients?

  6. I don’t know how they can claim hospitals are under great pressure, and at the same time be laying off workers. Seems very short sighted to me. What about staffing for those ICU’s?

    1. LindaL,
Don’t you know…this is the next step to creating a bed and staffing crisis in our hospitals to justify the next lockdown?
“We are overwhelmed!!!! We don’t have the staff to care for the unvaxxed who have contracted Covid!!! Shut down the province now or thousands of people will DIE!!!”
