What a sad state of the world. To serve and protect has withered and died, replaced with “You will obey”.
Does it matter if it’s FBI, RCMP, BATFE, OPP, Aussie cops, NYPD, etc, etc, etc! All of them are corrupted. When I grew up they were all trusted and respected, now, they are reviled. I’m not talking about the majority of individual line officers, except perhaps in Australia’s case, but most of em signed up to serve, their brass are the ones that have destroyed the trust and respect. A lot of the good ones are retiring or resigning in disgust, and this will only exacerbate the problem. The brass will lower standards further, and more thugs and psychopaths will sign up, thus further devolving the trust, that serve and protect originally meant.

Sadly I don’t see this righting itself within my remaining lifetime. This of course is only a side issue of the huge reality we are all faced with, and again, I predict decades of pain and deprivation for the decent people of the world. I end this post, by stating it has been our own stupidity and complacency in all it’s aspects, that has allowed this to metastasize and become the downfall and end of days for the west. We have been fools, and it is I think, now too late to change direction, for we are no longer chugging along with our eyes covered and our ears plugged, we are wide awake and screaming, while careening down a mountain, and we are now approaching “terminal” velocity!.

That’s the great genius of replacing police who believe their job is to protect the public with psychopaths: you get guys who believe their job is to hurt the public when the order is given to do so, and hope it will be given often.

Sort of like Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Russia and a whole bunch of other regimes I could mention. Pure coincidence I’m sure.
