Nearly 9,000 Canadian Border Service Agency workers have begun labour actions across the country, potentially causing lineups and delays at border crossings and airports just days before Canada is set to further reduce cross-border restrictions on fully-vaccinated U.S. travellers.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada and its Customs and Immigration Union, which represents the workers, confirmed on Twitter early on Friday that the job action had begun.
Update: US Secretary of State Blinken comments.

Nice collusion to keep those dirty Americans out. Can’t have them telling stories about people living normally in the midst of the Worst Pandemic Ever (c).
Well at least now the Government will stop paying them for not working. Must have been nice to collect their paychecks during Covid and not have to work. Too bad many others didn’t have that luxury.
“You’ve got 48 hours to return to work or you are all fired.” – Ronald Regan
Blame the Enemedia.
Just imagine if your enemedia showed the actual salaries, the pensions, the bennies, the vacations, the workload.
Did so for every public servant on a regular basis.
Then maybe 80% of the population wouldn’t be paying dearly to give the other 20% perks, pensions and benefits they don’t have themselves.
The Enemedia obviously endorses the servitude of the tax cows of Canada.
Public Service Unions and corrupt Canadian Main Stream Enemedia must be addressed.
Fire.Them.All.
Just get Juthtin involved: “They are asking more than we are able to give right now.”
Butts must have clued in the Spawn that they are mostly NDP supporters and that during an election campaign he can pull some of the mindless mushy “middle” voters who might have leaned towards O’Toole by pretending to be fiscally conscientious for a few seconds despite adding more to the federal debt in two years than all other PMs combined.
If I’m the Conservatives, I’m teeing up lots of videos about the German mark and wheelbarrows.
On another thread, I mentioned that I met an American “musher” while I stopped at Valleyview on my way back from Fort St. John earlier in the week.
He had come up through Montana. He wasn’t impressed by the Canadian border officials, with all the paperwork required to not only enter the country but to also take along the dogs he was transporting.
He should have called them “rescue dogs”, zoom, allowed right in.
Ah yes, “salary parity” one of the seven deadly sins at work again. Envy.
Anyone with a brain could see this coming ever since the CBSA’s arming initiative.
I’ve made no secret of what I think of them. Nothing says you’ve arrived home quite like a bull dyke in a shitty cubicle with a shitty attitude and an equally shitty ass “Criminal Justice” degree from some backwater Canadian college no one’s ever heard of with a sidearm strapped to her 46 inch waist inquiring about my trip and treating me and the wife like we’re some white skinned Pablo Escobars.
Were I King I’d fire every one of their sorry asses.
You described my experiences while I flew to and from my house in Fort St. John. The airport security bull dykes I had to deal with didn’t have sidearms, but many of them had coloured hair and tattoos.
Woe betide me if I didn’t wear my face diaper “properly”.
I guess having a crappy attitude must be a requirement for employment in that business.
Well, when entering the land border between the U.S. and Canada they did/do have sidearms.
Contrast that experience upon entering the U.S. side where I don’t think it’s unreasonable for one to expect the security there to have at least a tamped down level of suspicion, I mean, that’s their job, but once you’re cleared it quickly evaporates to “Y’all have a nice day, and be careful, ok?” and more often than not accompanied by a smile as opposed to the CDN side where you’ll get a silent, grim faced nod of the head to proceed forward as if they just did you the biggest damn favour on Earth.
you’ll get a silent, grim faced nod of the head to proceed forward as if they just did you the biggest damn favour on Earth
That sounds like the airport security I had to deal with. During one trip, the agent was particularly nosy to the point that she started rummaging through my wallet. I watched what she did quite closely, lest she become light-fingered.
I don’t recall saying anything, not that it would have done any good. I would probably have had to deal with an even surlier supervisor whose response likely would have been that it was done for my “safety” and if I didn’t like having my privacy abused and violated, I didn’t have to fly.
It wasn’t terrific while Harper was still PM. It got worse after Prinz Dummkopf punted him from office and really went into the toilet after the phony plague started.
It wouldn’t surprise me if I’m on some “abuse freely” list because I’m one of the few people who actually says something.
So how come I don’t feel safe with cretins like that in charge of security?
So how come I don’t feel safe with cretins like that in charge of security?
That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. Well done BA.
Thank God I got out of that shitty little communist protectorate of Canada when I did. Canada has shed it’s Bronze Medals for Gold ones in the field of weakness, cowardice , wholesale abject ignorance, and ungracious ill-informed America-hating. You are as weak and pathetic as they come as a people and we will soon trade you in for a new pet who appreciates the safety security and the economy we have gifted upon you.
My apologies to the smattering of actual free thinking people that exist in places like Saskatchewan and Alberta. All the rest of Canada including the Francophone fascists and the Maritime economic retards can lick my America balls!
May God see fit to destroy forthwith the putrid diseased little place known as the Monarchy of Canada and replace it with a strong representative Republic.
Have you had a look at the Bolsheviks that hold the highest office in your land of the “free” (more bankrupt than the deranged dominion) and home of the “brave” who haven’t won a war in 76 years? Canada is f…ed but we’re not alone.
What’s wrong with Bolsheviks? Just give them some time and America will be a land of free milk and honey. Soon everyone will be a billionaire. Think Zimbabwe. Bolsheviks solve problems — overpopulation for example.
‘home of the “brave” who haven’t won a war in 76 years’
Yes they have. In 1983 the American David roundly defeated the Grenedian Goliath. (Four SEALS drowned in that invasion, even though the first thing taught to SEALS is to not get drowned!)
If only John.
The problem with allowing public sector unions is that nobody advocates for the people who pay their wages, which is to say, we taxpayers. Since it’s in the best interests of the government to end any public sector strike or job action as quickly as possible, especially in what looks to be an election year, the government will go through the motions then give in to all demands. And don’t even get me started on the topic of unfunded liabilities and government employees pensions, especially in light of the skyrocketing debt.

Oh well. I’ve been to Canada for military service, work, and as a tourist. I love it there. But if I can’t go, Oh Well.
L – The CBSA held a press conference a few years ago. They stated that their security analysis
showed 50%+ of the illegal border jumpers crossing Roxham Road in Quebec, et al, had recorded criminal backgrounds. The “free” press in Canada and the “loyal” Opposition Parties have avoided that between and during the fake campaigns ever since. Nor will they in this one.
The organized crime problem in Canada is more underground than are the gangs, themselves.
Trudeau will settle with the CBSA before calling an election to avoid them having any “awkward” press conferences, during his upcoming attempt to achieve absolute power. To finalize control over what Canadians are allowed to know, to say, to communicate and to think.
“No thinking out aloud. No thinking period!” – Trudeau Liberals unspoken campaign meme that shall not be named. Or you’ll be labelled Corvid-19 positive and required to isolate, repeatedly, test not required.
So Roxton Road must be going unmanned. Does anybody notice a difference? And the guns and other paraphernalia are still making it through to the First Nations reserves unabated, so what has changed? But the government isn’t getting its cut so there is that.
Maybe the strike will start an open-bo4ders movement, like was exists in the United States. Lot’s of support for illegal immigration, human trafficking, drug trafficking and money laundering.
Supply chain interruption of Great Reset now implemented.

If no one is monitoring who comes into Canada illegally, what has changed if these guys walked off the job?
Shut her all down boys, who gives a fuck how many people die. Idiots and morons in every facet of Canadian life. Are there any intelligent people left anywhere in the northern backwater banana useless piece of dirt call canada.?

Good thing we cancelled our Alaska cruise that was scheduled to leave this Sunday. We cancelled because the cruise line changed their policy three days prior to departure: suddenly, all fully vaccinated guests are required to wear masks everywhere, with the exception of their own cabin. Not. Going. To. Happen. Just not going, despite no refund.
CBSA is just a step too far. Who is going to leave the country when CBSA determines who gets to come back in, and when?
No Guff, Sorry you had to cancel, as I know you mentioned your wife is in failing health, and this was probably your last chance to spend a quality vacation together. But yeah, being masked on the ship all the time would be an additional bummer. It would seem they are all trying to remove joy from everyone’s life. Possibly to make us feel like we’re happier, when we eventually own nothing. Add to that the CBSA attitudes and Covid crap and fines, and and and….
It is truly sad what elected officials have done and are doing to us all. It is even sadder, that we have allowed it to happen, and it also looks like we’ll do it some more when the chief idiot wins the election again. Open question, can it still be called an election when the outcome is a foregone conclusion?
2 hour delay at Emerson at the commercial side. Normal for a Friday is 15 minutes. I hear it is much worse now.
