We used to see and hear them everywhere. TV, radio, print there was a time when we’d be able to hear at least two different sides to pretty much everything. Now it’s all the same mindless goo. They have their problems across the pond too but this is refreshing to see.

Further to what others have said above, historians should take note that only one side in this debate (and other debates) has been allowed on most TV channels, on most social media platforms, etc. The suppression of free debate is atrocious and extremely dangerous.
I’ve had some luck arguing with liberals by asking them what is the strongest argument against their position and then asking them if they don’t know both sides of an issue how can they compare the relative merits of the arguments.

I haven’t seen an actual debate in a very long time. The scripted dog and pony shows that are called debates today are no such thing. Imagine arguing a position against someone with an opposing position with an intelligent critical non-communist audience. Doesn’t happen these days.
It’s at the point now that “Jane, you ignorant slut…” is considered the start of a rebuttal.
I remember debates on CBC during the GWB era. They would have on a Democrat who hated Bush and thought he was stupid. And then for balance, they would invite on someone claiming to be a Republican who also hated Bush and thought he was stupid.
That was as fair as they ever got.
