This detailed takedown of Mark Carney’s vision of the new socialist utopia should send shudders down the spine of anyone who has an affinity for a society based on the principles of free markets.
Carney draws inspiration from, among others, Marx, Engels and Lenin, but the agenda he promotes differs from Marxism in two key respects. First, the private sector is not to be expropriated but made a “partner” in reshaping the economy and society. Second, it does not make a promise to make the lives of ordinary people better, but worse. Carney’s Brave New World will be one of severely constrained choice, less flying, less meat, more inconvenience and more poverty: “Assets will be stranded, used gasoline powered cars will be unsaleable, inefficient properties will be unrentable,” he promises.
But somehow the new socialism will not be socialism as usual. This time it’s different. We can because we must. The threat is too great to permit any argument. It’s surprising that as he was picking out choice quotes from Lenin for his book, Carney missed this one: “No more opposition now, comrades! The time has come to put an end to opposition, to put the lid on it. We have had enough opposition!”
One of the reasons they insist on disarming the populace.

Mark Carney is an example of people who really terrify me. This plan of action will be the final nail in the coffin for the west. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that this gets adopted, we’re already half way there.

Ultimately, the control freak mania and authoritarianism of our increasingly megalomaniac ruling class will create a backlash. My bet is on massive renewed support for leaders who are able tap into the anger and resentment towards aristocractic rule by technocrats. Politicians who understand middle class values and aspirations will be rewarded. For example look at Florida’s Governor DeSantis compared to California’s Governor Newsome. Political leaders who govern/campaign as champions of the middle class will be called dangerous populists, of course, but Trump and Brexit showed how the populist insult isn’t very effective.

Carney’s the sort who likes sniffing his own farts, just like Trudeau. And like Trudeau, he cannot comprehend the reality of life for the 99%. Not that he cares about the 99%. No megalomaniac ever does. It’s all about power and the exercise thereof. Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot. They all tried to change their societies and murdered hundreds of millions in doing so. If Carney ever comes within reach of real power, the Canadian sheeple will get shorn and then butchered.

We were always told that communism was the biggest threat…turns out it was technocracy all along. Almost all of China’s key positions in government today are occupied by engineers and scientists whereas back in the days of Mao, working class chuckleheads, who couldn’t run a lemonade stand never mind how best to allocate a nation’s resources and means of production were at the levers and ran the country straight into the ground…you can bet that’ll never happen again.

Mixed economies are sick economies to the extend that the state features prominently in everything. In such a cancerous environment, tumors are ubiquitous. Carney is a product of the mixed economy where all the failings of the incestuous lesions of the state throughout the “private sector” can be blamed on (non-existent) capitalism with the cure coming directly from from state enterprises (socialism) or more trendy today, a regulatory structure compelling corporate servility to the state and all its narratives (fascism), The later is the Chinese model and one where megalomaniacs like the the Spawn, Butts or Carney thrive. Just as the only functioning form of communism can be found in entities like Hutterite communities where inviolable religion is the glue that holds it all together, Carney’s dystopian vision relies on the bovine servility of green theocracy. He is so thoroughly evil that I can’t see Canadians avoiding anointing him as the Spawn’s replacement in the not too distant future.
