Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Most of us are familiar with the acronym ‘DWB’, black leftists complain about being picked on by cops while driving all the time. Well, here’s a white guy who has ‘reversed’ this and has been pulled over by the cops for ‘DWB’ 22 times… Driving While Backwards

Canada should be on the list permanently for both Mirabel Airport, and the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

One can also add things like the Denver International Airport’s baggage handling system or the New South China Mall:

China’s notorious for having over-built, putting up buildings in cities that are largely unoccupied when the traffic is in nearby locations.

Hey marc, do you remeber the quote from Montreal Mayor Drapeau in response to the massive cost over-runs? “The Montreal Olympics can no more loose money than a man can have a baby!”
My heavens, things can change.
To which one of the best cartoonists in the country responded:

Yes. an outstanding cartoon from the always excellent Aislin, and the response from Mayor Drapeau’s office as well… 😉
*The Olympic Installations Board finished paying this debt off in 2005 +/- ?

The Gentiles are dying out, Gentile women having been convinced by Madison Avenue that it’s empowering to die surrounded by wine bottles and cat shit.
The only nation in the civilized world whose productive classes are reproducing themselves is Israel, where women are made to understand that some things are more important—like the survival of the Jewish people.

Mark Styne documented this is his excellent book “America Alone.”
I like how the architect blamed global warming for the intensity of sunshine in London.
“It didn’t used to be this hot.”
I remember the ’76 Olympics including the fact that the architect actually had a huge financial incentive to change the project mid course and the fact that engineers at the time were not at all certain that the tower on the Olympic stadium could actually be built.
At the the “micro” level, let’s not forget Justin’s skating rink, a hop, skip and a jump from the Rideau Canal.
Here is a great book detaining the Montreal Olympics fiasco by Nick Auf der Mayer. My favourite incident (from by old recollection) were the concrete trucks entering the stadium construction site, checking in and then leaving only to renter shortly later thereby doubling their revenue for the concrete.
