    47 (1) Every one who commits high treason is guilty of an indictable offence and shall be sentenced to imprisonment for life.

    (2) Every one who commits treason is guilty of an indictable offence and liable

    (a) to be sentenced to imprisonment for life if he is guilty of an offence under paragraph 46(2)(a), (c) or (d);

    (b) to be sentenced to imprisonment for life if he is guilty of an offence under paragraph 46(2)(b) or (e) committed while a state of war exists between Canada and another country; or

    (c) to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fourteen years if he is guilty of an offence under paragraph 46(2)(b) or (e) committed while no state of war exists between Canada and another country.

    (3) No person shall be convicted of high treason or treason on the evidence of only one witness, unless the evidence of that witness is corroborated in a material particular by evidence that implicates the accused.

      If memory Serves correct: The PM is de-facto Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces. As such he is liable to be charged with High Treason and subsequent HANGING….just like any other Soldier…under the Q R n R’s.

  4. This is silly and probably some kind of mistake but they really don’t care for the charter anymore. Doug Ford’s abhorrent measures were what “soldiers in our streets with guns” was about. Now those measures are too lenient for leftards.

      2. Exactly. All it has ever done is create jobs for lawyers, judges and human rights activists. My “so-called rights” have increasingly decreased over the 40 years it has been in place, and I no longer have much freedom..

    If the Judges are free to “read in” things into the Document, then they can just as easiIy “read them out”

  7. Canadians love the power they have given their governments and hate the rights they were born with, but especially the rights their neighbors were born with.

    1. Not all of us do. I never voted for any social programs. I was too young to vote when most of this sh@t came in.

      At the municipal level, there are never any conservative candidates anymore. The bios are all NGO activists, never a plumber or real business owner.

  10. I highly recommend reading Lindsay Shepherd’s book “Diversity and Exclusion”. She was the TA at Wilfrid Laurier University who pursued the presentation of a Jordan Peterson video on free speech after 3 professors interviewed her that this was threatening to several students especially transgenders.

    This book is an in depth look at what is going on in all our Canadian Universities and it is shockingly similar to the US and other nation’s schools as to the power of the left and including Antifa here at home. The professors and administration just roll over and shut down any conservative viewpoint and arrange the dismissal of any challenger to their hard left Marxist viewpoint or shut down any attempt to arrange a presentation like Christie Blachford tried to do.

    A 15 year adjunct professor at University of Victoria, Dr. Susan Crockford who is a zoologist whose specialty is Polar Bears, argued against climate change wisdom by stating that Polar Bears are not threatened with extinction and are thriving. In the land of David Suzuki this is a no-no and she was gone.

    All power to Lindsay as she survived the purge of our so called rights and freedoms. Scary stuff.

If the Charter of Rights becomes meaningless through judicial games of hide the pea does that mean the Provinces that signed on to replace the BNA with it can claim contractual default with the Feds? I think it’s reasonable to assume that if a product is faulty and unworkable (i.e. like a living document such as the Charter of Rights) those bound by it should be able to seek remedy. Given how it’s been poisoned with the replacement of easily definable “Equality” by the arbitrary always redefinable “Equity” or how Provincial rights over resources can be hijacked using unprovable fake science decrees there should be something to back track a clearly bad one-sided deal.

  18. Trudeau reset starting tomorrow when he implements the emergency measures act. Which should last until about May 17. From then on the Charter will cease to exist, in perfect harmony with the lunatics running the US asylum.
