Oakland will give low-income families of color $500 per month, no strings attached
Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf announced this week that the city will launch a guaranteed income project to give hundreds of Black and Indigenous families and people of color $500 per month for 18 months.
The project’s payments will be unconditional, and recipients may spend the money however they choose.The Oakland Resilient Families program is the latest trial of a “guaranteed income” system of wealth distribution, where residents are given a set amount of money per month to supplement the existing social safety net.
I wonder how fast that will end up in court.
So much for equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.
Oakland is now only a quarter black. It used to be half. Maybe people will use their effing heads when they vote. Is Oakland bankrupt like every other California city?

I just love to point out the soft bigotry of low expectations to those who say that black people can’t be racist. “What kind of a bigot are you? Why do you think that black people are too stupid and lazy to succeed? How can you say that Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas and others aren’t smart, competent, or rich enough to be powerful?”
I’d like to think I have more in common outlook with that list than with Jeffrey Dahlmer and Charles Manson. That’s who I should be more like to the “skin colour alone decides” crowd.
They should ring up Thomas Sowell for a lesson on resilient families.
BUT, of course, as is the case with everything nowadays, it’s not about what it’s purportedly about so they’ll take this advice under advisement.

If he’s lying to the progressives in order to get their vote, how does that make him any different than the Libs? Because he would be lying to people that we don’t agree with that makes it okay? If he’s okay with lying to one group, how much of a stretch would it be for him to lie to another group? Or to us? I don’t know about you but I’m tired of holding my nose and voting for who I think is least likely to be lying to me.
Since real money is now on the table, there’s a real incentive for non-blacks to claim to be black. How will they tell the difference? Maybe they can resurrect the Race Classification Board from South Africa to implement tests to determine race.
Logic tells us that if a boy can claim to be a girl and the authorities then recognize him as a girl, then a white person can claim to be black and the authorities must agree they are black.
But we know that won’t happen because that would be RACIST! Logic has no place in the woke mentality.
Isn’t that the Elizabeth Warren defense?
These people have to be crazy, wait until the 18 months are up they won t dare to shut down the program. The BLM gang will be waiting at the city limits and they will have 18 months to get better armed than ever before. This is just a way to initiate the guaranteed income program without a free vote.
So does that mean $250 for those who are only 1/2 POC? $125 for 1/4?
